Failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton waded into the Lake Ontario name change debate and soon found herself way over her head in ridicule.
President Donald J. Trump formally changed the name of the Great Lake to “Lake America” this week as a reaction to Canada’s decision to engage in a trade war with the United States.
Nursing a nearly decade-long grudge against Trump over his stunning upset of the heavily favored former secretary of state in the 2016 election, Mrs. Clinton took a shot at the president on her X account, which she once again locked down to stifle critics.
“It’s Lake Ontario,” Clinton wrote.

In his Thursday executive order, the president directed the Department of the Interior to “update the Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) to reflect the renaming of the Lake and remove all references to Lake Ontario from the GNIS, consistent with applicable law.”
But Hillary disagreed, and X users couldn’t care less. She may have shut off replies, but the quotes were absolutely brutal.

“Canada has been ripping us off for a long time on trade,” Trump said on Thursday. “Very sadly, even the military, you know, we defend Canada for nothing. We don’t get anything. They don’t pay us to defend Canada.”
“The Lake of America was something I’ve been thinking about for a long time, actually. As you know, we took something called the Gulf of Mexico — we changed it — and now it’s very routinely the Gulf of America,” Trump said during the signing ceremony.

“The United States is the greatest protector of the Great Lakes, including the body of water currently known as Lake Ontario. Without the security and investment provided by the United States, this freshwater system would not be open for shipping, recreation, and responsible use to the same extent as it is today,” according to the executive order’s text, which is posted to the White House website.
“The United States Coast Guard supplies 9 of the 11 ice breaking vessels on the Great Lakes, securing commercial shipping lanes free of charge,” the order reads. “The United States has invested nearly $4 billion in protecting the Great Lakes freshwater ecosystem in the last decade, while Canada has invested far less in similar initiatives over the same period.”
Clinton has now wasted the last decade of her life raging against everything that Trump does, an overflowing fountain of bitterness drowning in her own irrelevance.
