A swipe at Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar (D) found her insisting President Donald Trump lacked two key requirements to “come after” her.
Friday, months after a wannabe assassin delayed the original attempt, the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner was held in Washington, D.C. During the president’s remarks, he had a particularly scathing roast of Omar that left the congresswoman incensed while claiming it was him who was “making us the laughing stock of the world.”
Reacting to the segment of the speech that addressed her, the Somali-born lawmaker captioned the video, “The idiot who runs our country says this but doesn’t have the courage or evidence to come after me. This should tell you how low IQ he is. Trump is who needs to get the hell out of our country because he is destroying it and making us the laughing stock of the world.”

Within his remarks, Trump noted Omar’s questioned and revised financial disclosures, allegations of a scam marriage to her brother, and a viral gaffe as he began, “[California’s] becoming such a horrible and dangerous location that Ilhan Omar, one of my favorites, and her brother are thinking about moving together — very much in love.”
“A video surfaced recently of Ilhan giving a speech referring to World War II as World War XI, and they asked her about that. She thought she got it right, but I’m not surprised ’cause she’s a low IQ person, and she’s also a very dishonest person, and she ought to get the hell out of our country,” asserted the president. “She shouldn’t be here. She shouldn’t be in our country. She also calls her brother, husband number one.”
Trump then turned specifically to the revision of the congresswoman’s financial disclosures, reports of which coincided with the closure of eStCru Wines, the winery co-owned by her husband, Tim Mynett.
“Omar is reportedly being investigated for fraud. She revised her net worth. I was shocked to see that she was worth much more than $30 million, and then when the press got on her, she revised it slightly downward to less than $18,000,” said the chief executive. “So she went from much more than $30 million to $18,000, and I know Dumocrats — and the word Dumocrats is something that’s come into fashion. I changed the ‘e’ with a ‘u.’ And most people don’t know that dumb has a ‘b,’ so we don’t have to worry about that.”
Since Omar accused the president of lacking the “courage or evidence” to go after her in connection to the allegations, it’s worth noting that Democrats on the Minnesota House Fraud Prevention and State Agency Oversight Committee shielded her from a subpoena as the lawmaker dismissed requests for documents and testimony regarding fraud allegations.
Meanwhile, the congresswoman insulated herself from a social media pile-on by restricting replies to her posts.
