Virtue signaling, fun-sucking radical leftists are everywhere, including deep red East Tennessee.
A social worker in Knoxville slammed city government for its “exceptionally off the mark” Halloween decorations featuring ghosts lining a main street. In her mind, the “anthropomorphic figures” (her words) looked like “a white supremacist lynching,” independent journalist Any Ngo reported.
“The last documented American lynching was 45 years ago, but leftists continue to spread hoaxes that black s—icides and things that resemble knots and nooses are evidence of lynchings,” Ngo added with a picture of the woman along with her hyperbolic post.
A leftist social worker in Knoxville, Ten n. named Elisabeth Spencer Pitts is pressuring the city council to take down its Halloween ghost decorations because she believes it looks like a white supremacist lynching.

Seeing something like a mirage of presumably black lynchings instead of innocent white Halloween decorations is a feature, not a bug among leftists who need to keep racial division alive to feign moral superiority.
Folks on X had plenty to say:

The eyes so often give the game away.
It looks more like the KKK got lynched?

True, but leftist eyes would never dare to see it that way.
“Shit just ain’t copacetic” good grief what a pseudo-intellectual weirdo

She tries to sound intelligent by using the word “anthropomorphic.”
FFS, its a ghost. Everyone knows it’s a ghost. Ghosts fly around and therefore must be hung in the air because they are not real and can’t fly around up there by themselves No one is giving human traits to a…— Maggie (@RubyBlueEye29) October 28, 2026
The over-the-top “intellectual” jargon is also a feature.
As Maggie above also astutely pointed out at the end of her response: “I’m
% convinced that she despises the fun that Halloween brings.”
Very likely true. How can you have fun when you choose to be miserable?
Happy Halloween!
