Kansas man arrested over alleged Trump threat just before Wichita MAGA rally

A man is under arrest after allegedly writing several threatening messages aimed at President Donald Trump.

Jaden J. Read, 24, was taken into federal custody on Saturday after he allegedly wrote “Let’s shoot Trump, honestly, where’s our shooter? I’m tired of living this money life,” and “I just got a 308 and 305 round and I’m killing this pedo.” The president was scheduled to attend an event for Sen. Roger Marshall at Heartland Credit Union Arena in Park City, an area just outside Wichita, Kansas, on Monday.

But he didn’t stop there. In the comments of a KWCH 12 News article on the rally, he is accused of posting additional threatening comments.

“Can we shoot him in Kansas please I will myself,” he reportedly wrote, adding, “IK [I know] where your speech will be. Already mapped out roofs around. Finna get kirked since yall couldn’t help him”.

A press release was issued on Monday, revealing that a Crime Stoppers tip led investigators to the alleged posts.

“Political violence and threats of political violence will not be tolerated,” U.S. Attorney Ryan A. Kriegshauser said in a statement. “The First Amendment allows for robust disagreement but there are constraints. I caution people to stay within the bounds of constitutionally protected speech.”
