CNN found out the hard way that President Donald Trump wasn’t kidding about banning them from the White House.
After vowing to ban CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House, Trump seems to have kept his word. As BizPac Review previously reported, MS NOW said that they had been barred from accessing the grounds, and now the same appears to have happened to CNN’s reporters.
The outlet released a statement Saturday morning, vowing to continue reporting on the Trump administration regardless of whether they are granted access to the White House.

“Early today, CNN journalists were denied access to the White House grounds. CNN’s mission to report on the U.S. government will continue regardless of any attempts to restrict physical access to the White House and other government buildings, or any other attempts to impede our journalism,” they wrote. “We have a right under the U.S. Constitution to do our reporting without hindrance or interference from the government and this ban is an illegal assault on this fundamental right.”
“We will not be deflected from our duty to hold the government and other public bodies to account, and we will continue to report on the actions and processes of this administration without fear or favor,” the statement continued. “CNN stands fully behind our White House team.”
CNN Senior White House reporter Betsy Klein revealed the moment she tried to do her job, only to realize her credentials had been deactivated.

It didn’t take long for X users to dig up a clip from 2021 that shows Brian Stelter, then with CNN, publicly questioning whether Fox News should be removed from the White House press pool under former President Joe Biden:
