Rolling out a “rehabilitation tour,” race-baiting Joy Reid wasted no time coming to the defense of a frequent guest who dubbed Democrats’ congressional leader an “AIPAC monkey.”

Failing to win on ideas, leftists have often resorted to language games to contort narratives, distort subject matter, and demonize their opposition. Conveniently, such mental gymnastics allowed for the typical calls for accountability and cancelation to be dropped over “cultural disconnection” when it was Reid’s own ally, Rula Jebreal, caught dubbing House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) an “errand boy.”
During one installment of her podcast titled “How Not to Criticize Black Leaders,” the former MSNBC host came to the defense of Jebreal, insisting, “Sometimes even our friends can get it wrong.”
“They can stumble over trying to make a point that maybe there’s a cultural disconnection that causes that point to go askew and go awry,” she went on before bringing the commentator on alongside Wajahat Ali, prompting John V. Moore to conclude, “Oh brother. The rehabilitation tour has begun.”

As was reported, Jebreal was speaking on Ali’s podcast when she said of Jeffries, “Hakeem is an Arabic name which means ‘healer.’ He’s not a healer, he’s a divider. He is a bought-and-paid-for AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) monkey. With all due respect — and I don’t mean it in a racist way — he is just basically an errand boy, and we’re done and tired.”
Reid disregarded the commentator’s own stated awareness of the possible reception of the remark and argued ignorance on behalf of her repeat guest, “… people who are not U.S.-born and raised in the United States sometimes don’t have the full cultural, you know, alignment and competency to really understand African-American history. And sort of the nuances of it and the way you need to criticize black leaders.”
As with her statement, Jebreal’s backhanded apology was covered, wherein she said, “I am disgusted and horrified that Hakeem Jeffries is taking money from AIPAC amidst Israel’s genocide in Palestine. That said, a term that I used to describe him was inappropriate and offensive and should never have been used. I apologize unconditionally.”
Featuring both her allies on her podcast, Reid talked up the “challenges of pro-Palestinian progressives” while Jebreal described herself as having grown up in “the AfroPalestinian community in occupied East Jerusalem” with pictures of civil rights leaders on her walls, insisting that “our struggle is a shared struggle.”
For his part, Ali attempted to turn the tables, highlighting numerous examples of alleged bigotry and so-called Islamophobia, including going as far as to call Hasan Piker, and the radical support for Democratic Socialists of America-approved candidates like Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan, little more than a distraction on his “democracy-ish” program with Danielle Moodie.
With Reid, many concluded her defense proved her “loyalty is to her leftism cult.”
And this proves that Joy’s only loyalty is to her leftism cult. Any outrage she ever shows at black people being insulted is just performative scam to hoodwink her small audience of dunces.
