A new report about the Bank of America executive killed in Times Square on Monday disclosed a heartbreaking family detail and her recent return to work.

Too often, investigations into heinous acts of violence lead to revelations about known mental illnesses. Monday in New York City, where criminals are routinely released, one such case resulted in the fatal stabbing of 32-year-old Erin Piacenti whom The New York Times reported was a new mother only just returned to work from maternity leave following the birth of her daughter.
According to the newspaper, “A 32-year-old vice president at Bank of America, Ms. Piacenti had just started her first week back on the job: Four days earlier, she had posted a photo of herself on social media holding her newborn daughter and standing, beaming, next to her husband.”
“She wrote about how grateful she was to have spend the past five months on maternity leave, about how her daughter had recently been baptized. The young family had traveled to Long Beach Island, N.J., Rhode Island and Maine,” continued the report on Piacenti, who’d also celebrated her second wedding anniversary.

As was previously reported, following Monday’s deadly attack, the suspect, 49-year-old Pamela Cisneros, was seen in a standoff with police, refusing to set down the two knives she was wielding before charging at an officer. Tasers proved ineffective at stopping the woman who was ultimately shot. Those wounds proved fatal.
During a press conference, New York Police Department Commissioner Jessica Tisch disclosed that, while Cisneros had no previous arrests, she did have two encounters with officers regarding mental illness in 2018 and 2019.
The other stabbing victim, 68-year-old Tak Kam of Rhode Island, is expected to recover from his injuries.
Monday’s tragedy came a day before the Department of Homeland Security encapsulated the lawlessness of New York, detailing that the “radical sanctuary policies” of the city and state alone had allowed for the release of 13,621 criminal illegal aliens out of jails and back onto the streets.
Commenting on the successful arrest of nearly 2,200 illegal aliens over that past month, DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said, “Over the course of this operation, we arrested murderers, rapists, pedophiles, drug traffickers, and violent assailants. And we did it with no help from Mayor Mamdani and Governor Hochul. The Trump Administration is committed to protecting the American people in every city and every state, and we won’t let sanctuary politicians stand in our way. If you’re a state or local politician, your best bet is to cooperate with us so we can all make America safe again.”

Remembering Piacenti, statements were released by her employer as well as her alma mater. Bank of America media relations executive John Yiannacopoulos stated, “We are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our colleague. She was a valued teammate who will be greatly missed. Our hearts go out to her family and all of her loved ones.”
Likewise, a spokesperson for Fordham University expressed, “We are heartbroken to learn of the tragic and senseless loss of our alumna, Erin (Guiltinan) Piacenti. Erin and her husband, Frank, graduated in 2021 and have been cherished members of the Fordham Law family. During this devastating time, our thoughts, prayers, and deepest sympathies are with Frank, their families, and all who knew and loved Erin.”
