Vice President JD Vance has a message for Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed.
Vance channelled his inner Will Smith to warn El-Sayed against talking about his wife, Second Lady Usha Vance, during a Monday rally in Sterling Heights, Michigan.

“Whatever you want to talk about, Abdul, keep my wife’s name the hell outta your mouth, because she’s way outta your league!” he said, to applause.
El-Sayed came under fire for making several comments about Vance’s wife, including about her recent pregnancy.
“What do you think is going through Usha’s head when he talks? She’s like, ‘Damn, I have to sleep with him,’” he said on “The Allen Analysis Show” in April.
“I guess she’s pregnant so something is happening. Can you imagine, he’s got brown kids, at some point he’s going to have a really awkward conversation with his kids, like, you made your career hating people who are different,” the candidate added.
He appears to have made a habit of talking about the second lady, asking in August whether Vance would take his wife “back in time to meet Papaw,” implying that the vice president’s grandfather was racist. This came after Vance criticized the leftist turn of the Democrats, saying it’s not the same party his Papaw voted for.

CNN’s Kaitlan Collins asked the Senate candidate whether he thought political spouses should be off limits following the pushback on the comments.

“Look, I’d rather not talk about spouses at all. The truth of the matter is that Donald Trump, almost as soon as I was nominated, tweeted a picture of me and my wife, relative to him and his wife, trying to highlight the fact that my wife wears a hijab as if to make an argument that that’s somehow less American,” El-Sayed said, justifying his remarks on Usha Vance. “And they have this interesting dynamic: Donald Trump says one thing, i.e., data centers, or tweets a picture of my wife, and then JD Vance pretends like it would be impossible for anybody ever to do something like that. So I’d like them to actually face down their own hypocrisy. The point that I’ve been making about his wife is that he believes in a political philosophy that says that some people are somehow more American than others.”
Naturally, this bizarre justification received no pushback from Collins.
