Sen. Blumenthal nearly mowed down by train during press conference on SAFETY

Senator Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., had an ironic close call while giving a speech on train safety.

While conducting a press conference, Blumenthal found out that he was entirely too close to the tracks when a train came blowing through just feet from where he was standing.

Watch:

“Safety, as you know, is paramount,” he says, moments before his “very, very close call” with the train. A news report on the incident accuses him of standing “too far over” on the yellow line, which is a safety measure that exists to warn riders away from the edge.

While the entire event may have undermined his speech, it gave X users plenty to talk about:
