A restaurant worker is being praised for his quick action to help an elderly man who had been assaulted.

South Carolina-based Boots and Sonny employee Hakeem LaPierre intervened after Gregory Tyricus Jacobs started hitting an elderly customer.

Surveillance video appears to show Jacobs approach the elderly man and step on his foot.

The elderly man immediately launched into defense mode when the young thug threw the first punch.

Then it was on.

The two tussled with the elderly guy holding his own, and then some, when LaPierre approached and pulled Jacobs behind the counter.

That’s when LaPierre and Jacobs threw down in an altercation that can be heard off camera.

“I saw it was a young guy jumping on an older man and then I saw a lobby full of men, and nobody moved,” LaPierre said.

“I’m not looking for the hero title. I just do what I expect another person to do if they see that happening to my father or grandfather.”

Amen!

As for the elderly guy… he’s doing just fine, but his wife made him go to the ER anyway.

“I’m the man that got hit. I’ve had 3 heart attacks, and on blood thinners; that’s why I went to the ER. I didn’t want to go, but my wife made me,” he said in a Facebook comment, reported Trending-Politics co-owner Collin Rugg, who posted the story on X:

Jacobs was reportedly arrested and charged with two counts of assault and battery, according to Collins.

Plenty of X users weighed in on the scene and praised LaPierre for his noble actions:

Never underestimate “old man strength.”

More of this, please!
