Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)-linked state broadcaster has aired a 3-minute AI video calling for the assassination of 20-year-old Barron Trump, President Donald Trump’s youngest son, and announcing a $10 million bounty for his head. The U.S. Secret Service is treating the video with the utmost seriousness it merits.

The 3 minute video, obtained by MEMRI TV, and translated into English, begins with a graphic announcing in English “Where to kill Barron Trump?!” The cartoon-style graphics then go on to depict locations that Barron is known to frequent, including the inside of Trump Tower in New York. A Persian speaking narrator claims that the Iranian regime has “deep insight” into the young man’s life and that of his Secret Service detail. Towards the end of the video the narrator announces that supporters of the regime are “eagerly waiting to receive our $10 million reward.”

The Secret Service acknowledged that it is looking into the matter but noted in a statement that the agency “investigates anything that can be perceived as a threat to protectees of the Secret Service.” No additional information was provided regarding the Secret Service’s enhanced security measures.

The Iranian regime, in its ongoing efforts to pressure the Trump family and administration, has continued to escalate in recent weeks. The strikes against Iran by President Trump and Israeli forces in late February 2026 that killed Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, and other senior regime figures were met with a cascade of threats from Iran, including an alleged plot to assassinate former President Trump that was uncovered by federal investigators before and after his election. The Secret Service has been on high alert in response to these and other Iranian threats against the Trump family.

In other developments a ship has been hit by an unknown projectile in the Strait of Hormuz, nine nautical miles northeast of Ash Shishah, Oman. The unknown projectile struck the engine room of the oil tanker, which is unable to maneuver under its own power, however all crew members on board the ship are reported safe and sound.

The incident occurred as a Pakistani diplomatic delegation was concluding talks in Tehran with Iran’s President and other senior officials over the Strait of Hormuz and fresh negotiations with the US. Pakistani Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir has been acting as a back-channel intermediary between Washington and Tehran. President Trump had last week phoned the Field Marshal. Iran has stressed that the Strait of Hormuz was not yet fully reopened despite a partial opening facilitated by Oman and continued to threaten to treat as waging war against it any country which supported the imposition of US sanctions.

Iran’s threat to assassinate the son of President Trump demonstrates that, even as Tehran launches diplomatic overtures behind the scenes, it remains eager to engage in a new level of psychological warfare against the US.
