Florida DSA Senate candidate Angie Nixon went on a rant about “racist” Governor Ron DeSantis.
She joined Joy Reid’s podcast with guest host Wajahat Ali, where she attacked the governor and referenced the “overwhelmingly peaceful” George Floyd riots of 2020. The clip was immediately shared on social media, where users noted that she sounded like “a cartoon-like caricature of 2020-era woke.”

“I cannot stand Ron DeSantis. Like, with a passion. He is racist! He said ‘Don’t monkey this up’ when Andrew Gillum was running against him for governor. And because a black man got so close to the governor’s mansion, this dude decided to attack the Voting Rights Act. After the overwhelmingly peaceful protests after George Floyd was executed on the streets, this guy pushed this anti-protest deal. He is so hateful,” she seethed. “I am so happy that his political career is done. And if he tries to run for another thing, Angie Nixon is gonna be on that ass. Can I say that?”
“Yes, you can,” Ali affirmed.
