Elon Musk is reactivating his America PAC to fund a large-scale Republican voter turnout effort ahead of the November 3 midterm elections, aiming to help the GOP retain control of Congress.
The technology billionaire’s super PAC will focus on mobilizing the conservative base through door-knocking, direct mail, and digital advertising, with particular emphasis on voters who often sit out non-presidential contests.
Representatives for Musk declined to disclose the exact size of the financial commitment. Sources familiar with the plans expect a substantial investment, building on Musk’s record as the largest individual political donor in the 2024 cycle, when he directed more than $260 million through America PAC to support Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, according to Axios.
The fresh funding is expected to widen Republicans’ existing financial edge. GOP super PACs and committees currently hold a cash advantage of more than $300 million over their Democratic counterparts, a figure that does not include the roughly $400 million controlled by Trump’s MAGA Inc. super PAC.
Republican strategists hope the resources will help offset a difficult political climate. Trump’s approval ratings have been strained by economic concerns and the ongoing conflict involving Iran, putting GOP majorities in the House—and potentially the Senate—at risk.
By taking on ground-level get-out-the-vote operations, America PAC will free other Republican groups to shift more spending toward television advertising.
Musk has held discussions with Trump’s political team to coordinate the effort. Chris Young, Musk’s senior political adviser, is expected to oversee the PAC’s midterm activities, reported Clash Report.
“America PAC was an essential partner for our historic GOTV operation in 2024, and their return for 2026 is a huge boost for Republicans across the country,” said James Blair, a senior political adviser to Trump. “We will again outsmart our opponents and ruthlessly execute our mission for the GOP between now and Election Day.”
The renewed partnership follows earlier tensions. After a short stint leading the Department of Government Efficiency, Musk publicly criticized federal spending levels and floated the idea of a third political party. Relations improved late last year, marked in part by a $10 million contribution from Musk to Nate Morris, a Republican Senate candidate in Kentucky who later joined the Trump administration.
“The president’s political team and the rest of the GOP apparatus have built a top-notch operation that will put Republicans in a strong position to buck history and retain control of Congress this fall, and we’re excited to again be part of the team,” America PAC spokesperson Andrew Romeo said.
