U.S. lawmakers have finally found something they all agree upon.
The Senate agreed unanimously on Wednesday that convicted sex offender and Jeffrey Epstein sidekick Ghislaine Maxwell should never be given a presidential pardon or any form of clemency.
Nevada Democrat Sen. Jacky Rosen brought on the resolution to stop Maxwell from potentially gaining a pardon under acting Attorney General Todd Blanche to clear Trump’s name from Epstein allegations.

“It’s frankly horrifying that Trump would entertain the idea of clemency for even a second for a convicted sex trafficker,” Rosen said in a speech on the Senate floor.
President Trump nominated Blanche to retain his role as AG, and Rosen asked Republicans to pass the resolution before Blanche has a chance to offer a pardon.
“If Republicans advance Todd Blanche’s nomination tomorrow in the Judiciary Committee, this is the least they can do to make their opposition to a Maxwell pardon clear,” she said.
While Rosen’s resolution had bipartisan support, it is not binding, according to The Hill.
Some X users bashed the “performative” move and slammed the Senate for its priorities.
“OK, so… they pass a performative demand that Trump NOT DO something they made up in their own heads?” one user angrily responded.
What a waste of time! The Senate cannot override the powers given to the President as described in the constitution. The president and the president alone has the power to issue a federal pardon, why is the Senate driving outside of its lane?

Blanche has said he would not pursue a pardon for Maxwell, while Trump has not ruled it out.
