Mamdani doxxes the homeowners he wants to target next

Already drawing ire from the non-woke wealthy, the Big Apple’s socialist city hall dropped a new database “effectively doxxing thousands” that may not even have been associated with his latest tax.

Leftists have proven time and again that they aren’t above marching a mob straight up to your door to intimidate your family, including Supreme Court justices and lawmakers. Now, at the same time New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) encouraged the keffiyeh-clad masses to organize against an upcoming visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Hizzoner’s office provided the Marxist miscreants with a database to locate the wealthy owners of pieds-à-terre.

As the New York Post put it, “Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s administration has published a searchable database of Big Apple properties that could fall under the state’s new pied-à-terre tax, effectively doxxing thousands of wealthy New Yorkers.”

“The city’s Department of Finance uploaded the comprehensive list — which purports to cover all unoccupied, non-primary residences in the five boroughs worth north of $1 million — including the full names and addresses of every property owner,” continued the newspaper.

With his own name said to be erroneously on the list, New York City Council Minority Leader David Carr (R) told the outlet, “It’s a reckless and foolish move, especially considering there are potentially thousands of properties on this list that do not qualify as second homes or whose owners will successfully dispute their inclusion.”

According to the Post, 960,000 addresses are potentially eligible for the pied-à-terre tax despite officials claiming the number would be closer to 31,000.

The database followed Mamdani’s warning to wealthy property owners: “If you have a second home in New York City worth more than $5M, check your mailbox when you’re back in the five boroughs — because you’ve got mail.”

“Today, we sent notification letters to property owners, letting them know that our new pied-à-terre tax is coming soon,” continued the mayor. “The best city in the world deserves the best parks, libraries, and schools in the world. That’s only possible when we all pay our fair share.”

Defending the move in the same city where radicals had celebrated the December 2024 assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, treating the alleged killer as a heartthrob celebrity, a spokesperson for the Department of Finance stated, “As per State law, a property roll was released for public inspection. From this list, DOF will identify properties that may be subject to the new non-primary residence property surcharge.”

Nonprofit business advocacy group Partnership for NYC CEO Steven Fulop remarked on how the “far-left already treats success itself as something to be punished” as he told the Post, “Most of the people on that list aren’t billionaires by any stretch — they’re people that believed in NYC, worked hard and bought a second home. All this does is make people feel less safe in their own city, and less welcome in it.”

Given the framing that the addresses are unoccupied second homes, the backlash included an assertion that, “If a single one of these places gets robbed because people think nobody lives there they are out of town people than this a**hole is to blame.”
