Trump rips on ‘freaking stupid’ WHCD speech given to him after term limit joke bombs

President Donald Trump had no patience for prewritten jokes at the rescheduled White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.

To his credit, the president attempted to stick to the remarks that had been prepared for him by speechwriters, but that didn’t last very long when the jokes failed to get the reaction he was looking for. After cracking wise about an unnamed lawmaker and barely getting any laughs, Trump went off-script to rip the people who wrote the “whole freaking stupid speech.”

Watch:

“I do think we need term limits in Congress. I think term limits are very important, because I see what’s happening. I see what’s happening. The other day a senator I knew, great guy, got a text from his wife. And she said ‘When you get home, I want you to immediately come upstairs and make love to me.’ And he said ‘I can’t do both.’ You know, ha ha ha,” the president laughed mockingly after the joke bombed. “In other words, I can’t go up the stairs and make love. Does anybody get that? Well, I thought it was actually pretty good. That was actually the only thing I thought was good in this whole freaking stupid speech that they wrote!”

The last line actually garnered more laughs than the scripted joke.

“That was the only good one, and that went down with not exactly great laughter. So we’re looking for term limits. But I do wonder whether the Democrats are trying to lose the midterms. In Maine the nominated a guy with a Nazi tattoo, but don’t worry Democrats, word is that Platner’s replacement, he throws bottles at women,” the clip ends.
