U.S. Central Command opened its twelfth consecutive night of strikes against Iranian military targets Wednesday evening (5:30 p.m. ET), with the wave hitting seven Iranian provinces — the largest geographic spread of the campaign, per CENTCOM’s X post. Cities struck include Tabriz, Ahvaz, Ramshir, Andimeshk, and — critically — Bushehr province, home to Iran’s only operating nuclear power plant.

Iran’s IRNA news agency confirmed three locations in Bushehr province were hit, including an electrical installation near the reactor. The U.S. has not addressed the nuclear proximity publicly. Iranian state media also reported two civilian deaths in the border town of Shalamcheh from a U.S. missile — an Iranian government claim, not independently verified.

Trump escalated verbally: he posted to Truth Social warning Iran he would bomb “one bridge or power plant” if attacks on shipping continued. Tehran replied via state media with an “eye for an eye” statement (Live Mint). Secretary Rubio, speaking in Manila at ASEAN, was blunter: “They are clearly not serious about making a deal — at least not one they are willing to live by. Every night the price gets higher,” per CNBC. As of Thursday, CENTCOM has redirected nine commercial vessels and disabled one in the ongoing naval blockade of Iranian ports. No diplomatic off-ramp visible.
