On Monday, President Donald Trump announced his suggestion for Senator Lindsey Graham’s successor.

Graham’s sudden death shocked the political world and threw the state of South Carolina for a loop. As those closest to him come to terms with the loss, Trump came up with a “wonderful” way to pay tribute to the late lawmaker.

“I recommended, to Governor Henry McMaster, Lindsey Graham’s wonderful sister, Darline, to serve as interim Senator from the Great State of South Carolina. This would be a fabulous tribute to Lindsey, who loved her dearly!” Trump wrote on Truth Social Monday morning.

Sen. Tim Scott, R-South Carolina, voiced his approval of the idea in an X post.

McMaster will appoint Graham’s replacement at 4p.m. EST on Monday, and it’s unclear if he is taking Trump’s opinion under advisement.

I don’t know Darline. She sounds like a lovely lady. But it may be wise to vet her political views and potential voting scenarios. Family members can disagree on politics. Although I vote rationally and with common sense, my sister votes with her elitist leftist ideologies.
