NY orders new school election after the ‘thing that never happens’ happened

That thing the left insists never happens happened again during a Long Island school district’s board of education elections.

The state of New York overturned the results of the elections “after an internal probe accused the clerk in charge of overseeing the vote of trashing ballots to help a local DJ win reelection,” the New York Post reported.

More from the newspaper:

State Education Commissioner Betty Rosa ordered a new race to take place within 60 days just hours after a Hempstead Union Free School District petition surface that claimed District Clerk April Keys tore up ballots and smuggled them out of her office to help re-elect former school board President Victor Prett, a local DJ who goes by the name DJ Vic-Lover.

“The Board appreciates the Commissioner’s expeditious review of this matter, which enables the District to move forward with the revote in accordance with the Commissioner’s ruling,” the district said in a statement to The Post.

An usually high number of absentee and early-mail ballots prompted concerns about the election, according to the school district’s labor council, Austin Graff.

As seen in the post below, Pratt won by an 81-vote margin, receiving 87% of absentee votes and 55% of early mail votes, compared to just 27% of in-person machine votes.

Sound familiar? The Los Angeles mayor’s election immediately comes to mind when considering the outcome. The one certainty here seems to be that until people start going to prison for election fraud, it will continue to happen.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
