Cryfest: Democratic Party mourns loss of Stephen Colbert platform

The end of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” sparked a cryfest on the left and had the Democratic Party mourning the departure of the host.

The final episode of the long-running CBS talk show aired this week, marking the end of an era. Despite declining ratings and Colbert regularly alienating half the country with his attacks on President Donald Trump and his supporters, the left saw the show’s demise as political.

And they weighed in on social media, where Democrats celebrated the free platform Colbert gave to the political party.

Many noted how Democrats seemed to be confirming that Colbert was another “partisan hack.”

With nearly seven million viewers tuning in for the show’s finale, Rolling Stone and other outlets claimed Colbert “went out with a bang.” There was a quick reality check on X when looking at the numbers.

Interestingly, CNN’s Brian Stelter noted that “there was not a single mention of Trump’s name during Colbert’s final episode.”

President Trump was sure to join the goodbyes for Colbert, posting an AI video of him throwing the late-night host into a dumpster.
