KGW TV news (Portland, Oregon), reported on residents pushing back on data center development in Hillsboro, west of Portland.

Right now, KGW reports that 18 data centers are either in operation or under construction.

Protestors gathered at a farmhouse surrounded by data centers with a sign “Data centers suck, and raise our rates.”

The news presenters said this was “a sentiment shared across the nation in this moment.”

One protestor on camera raised concern about spikes in electricity costs and impact on water.
