As reported by KTVB TV news (Boise, ID), Governor Brad Little signed HB 895 into law last month, which aims to regulate water use by data centers.

News presenter Hunter Funk discusses the bill and other issues regarding data centers and effects in Idaho in the following news segment.

“On the surface [data centers] don’t look like much,” said Hunter Funk. “Just big buildings full of computers. But behind those plain-looking walls, there is a large appetite for electricity, water, land, and infrastructure.”

She continued, “And right now, Idaho is starting to ask the same questions communities across the country are wrestling with. What actually happens when the digital world moves into your backyard?”

See the news segment below. (Funk begins to mention HB 895 specifically after 4:15.)
