California Gov. Gavin Newsom is practically begging Joe Rogan to invite him onto his popular Spotify podcast to give the 2028 White House hopeful a forum to peddle his lies to a massive audience.
The outgoing Democrat leader is now trying to pick a fight with the podcasting king over old comments in a pathetic attempt to goad Rogan into going mano a mano by resurfacing a clip of the former California resident branding him as “f**ing con man” and a “cardboard cutout of a person.”

“Nobody wants President Newsom either,” Rogan said. “Nobody believes in that guy. That guy’s a f**king con man. I mean, everything he did in California, from trying to mandate vaccines for kids when it was totally unnecessary to being caught out in public without a mask and lying about the fact that he was outdoors. All of it. It’s just, nobody believes in the guy. He’s just a politician, just a stone-cold, narrative-driven politician, you know, and nobody thinks he’s a real human,” Rogan said of the hypocritical Newsom who ruled with an iron fist during the COVID pandemic while refusing to play by his own rules.
The shared video was from a 2023 clip from “The Joe Rogan Experience” when the host and guest Patrick Bet-David were discussing the 2024 presidential election, which was ultimately lost by Kamala Harris – another Californian – with some at least partially blaming it on her failure to engage with Rogan in one of the extended, freewheeling interviews that he’s famous for. Trump did and swept all the swing states and won the popular vote.
It isn’t the first time that the governor has accused Rogan of being too “chicken” to invite him onto the podcast. Last October, he shared another clip of the host running down his leadership to beg for a sit-down.
“Joe Rogan is too [chicken emoji] to have me on his show and expose his listeners to the truth, so I’ll put it here,” he wrote with a series of bullet points defending his job performance, adding “I could continue… invite me on any time, @joerogan :).”

Also in October 2025, the desperate Newsom baited Rogan on the “Higher Learning” podcast after the popular host branded him as a “bullsh*t artist” who has ruined California during his stint as governor.

“He won’t have me on the show. It’s a one-way, and he has guests coming on, attacking and bashing, but he won’t have me on the show. Full stop. He should have me on the show,” Newsom said.
“I’m not afraid to go — I’m punching Joe Rogan, that son of a bitch is not used to that,” the trash-talking governor declared. “He’s gonna dismiss it, he’s gonna laugh it off, tough guy and all that. But is he gonna have me on? I don’t know.”
Rogan fled Newsom’s deep blue dystopia in 2020, relocating to the free state of Texas. He has frequently criticized the Golden State as a communist hellhole.
“California went nuts, man, it’s gone like full communist. It’s out of its f**king mind,” he said in January 2024.
