Trump says 2020 presidential election should be ‘permanently wiped from the books’ if SPLC is convicted

President Donald Trump has called for the 2020 presidential election to be erased from history if the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is successfully prosecuted by the Department of Justice (DOJ).

“The Southern Poverty Law Center, one of the greatest political scams in American History, has been charged with FRAUD,” he wrote in a Truth Social post published early Friday morning.

“This is another Democrat Hoax, along with Act Blue, and many others. If it is true, the 2020 Presidential Election should be permanently wiped from the books and be of no further force or effect! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DJT,” he added.

The stunning post came three days after the long-disgraced SPLC was federally indicted for funneling donated money to extremist groups, including the Ku Klux Klan, the American Nazi Party, and the National Socialist Movement, among other groups.

The SPLC has long claimed to be a bastion against creeping white supremacy, but it turns out that there’s so little actual white supremacy that the group had to essentially manufacture it out of thin air.

“[S]tarting in the 1980s, the SPLC began operating a covert network of individuals who were either associated with violent and extremist groups, such as the Ku Klux Klan, or who had infiltrated violent extremist groups at the SPLC’s direction,” according to a DOJ press release.

“Unbeknownst to donors, some of their donated money was being used to fund the leaders and organizers of racist groups at the same time that the SPLC was denouncing the same groups on its website,” the release continues.

SPLC CEO Bryan Fair has, for his part, alleged that his organization is being politically targeted for “prior use of paid confidential informants to gather credible intelligence on extremely violent groups.”

But acting Attorney General Todd Blanche has dismissed this claim, telling reporters that the SPLC wasn’t “dismantling” extremist groups.

“It was instead manufacturing the extremism it purports to oppose by paying sources to stoke racial hatred,” he explained. “There is nothing political about this indictment or this investigation.”

The SPLC wasn’t always like this. As previously reported, the organization began its descent into partisan madness under the helm of Margaret Huang.

Installed at the SPLC as president and CEO in 2020 after co-founder Morris Seligman Dees Jr. was fired, Huang transformed the organization from one that defends civil rights to one that persecutes conservatives and Christians, according to the New York Post.

Indeed, her tenure at the SPLC, which finally ended last summer, coincided with the organization “accusing conservative and religious groups like the Alliance Defending Freedom, Moms for Liberty, and the Family Research Council of fomenting ‘hate’ or ‘extremism.’”

Huang, whose compensation totaled $522,000 in 2023, is such a radical that she penned an op-ed last year for the left-wing extremist blog Daily Kos in which she smeared everybody from people who wanted to keep schools open during COVID to parents who wanted their rights over their own children to be respected.

Critics of the organization hope that the indictment either inspires the SPLC to change its ways or fully buries the disgraced organization once and for all.
