Recently, KETV and WOWT TV news in Omaha, Nebraska reported on the attempted abduction of a 3-year-old boy in an area Walmart parking lot.

A woman violently attempted to abduct the child and cut his arm and face with a stolen butcher knife, resulting in several stitches. Police shot and killed the 31-year-old woman.

The boy was released from hospital and has been recovering.

According to a KETV news presenter, court documents show that the woman, a year ago, was ruled as a danger to herself and others.

She was involved in a stabbing of her father and a break-in in 2024, but found not responsible by reason of insanity. The judge ordered her to undergo evaluation in an “outpatient capacity” in February 2025.

The KETV reporter said that a grand jury will investigate this matter.
