Criminal immigrant naturalized under Biden, killed a DHS agent and was found dead in jail cell

A British man naturalized by the Biden administration was found dead in his jail cell days after committing a string of deadly shootings in Atlanta.

Olaolukitan Adon Abel, described by the media as a 26-year-old “Navy veteran,” was found unresponsive in his DeKalb County, Georgia, jail cell.

“Officials performed lifesaving measures on the U.S. Navy veteran, but he was later pronounced dead,” the Associated Press reported.

Foul play wasn’t suspected in his death, though an official cause of death hadn’t yet been determined by Wednesday morning.

The string of shootings that occurred on April 13 began around 1:00 am near a Checkers restaurant, where the first victim, 31-year-old Prianna Weathers, was found dead from a gunshot wound.

About an hour later and 12 miles northwest of the first shooting, 48-year-old Tony Matthews, a husband and father, was found shot. He survived in the hospital for several days before being declared dead.

A couple more hours later, and 10 miles away in another Atlanta suburb, 40-year-old Lauren Bullis, a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) employee, was found dead from a gunshot wound and stab wounds.

After investigators determined that the three killings were connected, Adon Abel was taken into custody during a traffic stop later that day.

“He is charged with two counts of malice murder, aggravated assault, and firearms counts,” according to station KCRA.

The deaths of Weathers, Matthews, and especially Bullis outraged the Trump administration, given that Adon Abel, who was evidently born in the U.K., “was naturalized by the Biden Administration in 2022,” according to DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin:

Adon Abel also has an extensive criminal history.

“He possesses a prior criminal record that includes convictions for sexual battery, battery against a police officer, obstruction, and assault with a deadly weapon,” Mullin noted on social media.

According to CNN, court records show that Adon Abel “pleaded guilty to four counts of misdemeanor sexual battery for a 2025 incident in Georgia and was sentenced to 48 months of probation.”

Another filing shows that he “pleaded guilty to a 2024 felony assault with a deadly weapon ‘other than a firearm on a Police officer or firefighter’ in California.”

In a post published to Facebook, DHS described Abon Abel as a “monster”:

This apparently offended the thug’s public defender, Don Plummer.

“It is irresponsible and troubling for public officials to label an accused person a ‘monster’ before adjudication,” he told CNN. “That kind of language may be politically convenient, but it is corrosive to due process and to the basic right to a fair trial.”

“We understand the intense public attention surrounding this case, but Mr. Abel has the same constitutional rights as any other accused person, and our job is to protect those rights in court. This is a tragic and serious case. Nothing about defending constitutional rights minimizes that. In fact, the rule of law matters most when emotions are high, and the allegations are the most serious,” he added.

In a statement to CNN, Adon Abel’s brother, Toyin, expressed sympathy for the victims, saying, “I feel terrible for the victims, their families, and their connections — it’s a horrible thing.”

What remains unknown is the motive for the shooting. So far, it appears all three shootings were entirely random.

Adon Abel’s roommates have alleged that just prior to the shootings beginning, he got into a loud argument over their air conditioning and then stormed out of the home.
