The legitimacy of a key document in the investigation of Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar\u2019s (D) alleged fraud was confirmed \u2014 leaving the Somalia-born politician\u2019s own identity in doubt.<\/p>\n

As evidenced by the opened and closed investigation of Omar under the administrations of Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden, concerns about fraud are nothing new. However, as indictments remain expected following a series of raids that included the lawmaker\u2019s house, the New York Post confirmed a marriage license showing her unclear on answering the question of her name is real and potentially damning.<\/p>\n

Sharing an image of the 2009 application for a marriage license to her alleged brother, Ahmed Elmi, the newspaper highlighted how Omar wrote her name as Ilhan Abdullahi Omar, before crossing out the surname, replacing it with Omar Elmi, only to cross it out once more to jot down the initial name.<\/p>\n

\u201cA certified copy from the Hennepin County, Minn., government shows that the Democratic congresswoman\u2019s surname was initially written as Omar, before being crossed out and replaced with Elmi. A final edit reverted it back to Omar,\u201d reported<\/a> the Post. \u201cThe revisions are potentially significant as the Justice Department investigates whether Omar fraudulently gained US citizenship in 2000 by failing to use her accurate legal name \u2014 and birthdate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Talk of alleged immigration fraud earlier this year found the Republic of Somaliland X account sharing<\/a> the same image of Omar\u2019s marriage license application with the question at the end of the post, \u201cExtradition?\u201d<\/p>\n

\nThis evidence was available, but the Obama Justice Department refused to investigate.<\/p>\n

Her brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, and their father, Nur Said Elmi (also known as Nur Omar), used multiple names across different countries. Part of the family fled to the United Kingdom, while Ilhan Omar and others entered the United States under their father\u2019s assumed name, \u201cOmar.\u201d<\/p>\n

These name changes and split identities were used to conceal the father\u2019s true war crimes and identity.<\/p>\n

The Post also indicated that, by appearance, the application looked \u201cto have been written with just one person\u2019s handwriting,\u201d though it remained unclear who that may have been, as it noted the question as to whether or not the bride and groom are related to one another \u201cby blood or adoption\u201d was answered by checking the box for no.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the application,\u00a0retired Minneapolis attorney Scott Johnson, who has investigated Omar\u2019s alleged fraud for a decade, told the Post,\u00a0\u201cQuestions should be asked. She\u2019s never answered them.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe whole thing was a joke. The marriage was a fraudulent marriage, brazenly fraudulent. They didn\u2019t take it seriously. It was entered into for a fraudulent purpose,\u201d he went on.<\/p>\n

Likewise,\u00a0AJ Kern, who previously ran against Omar in the 2022 Democratic primary, told the newspaper,\u00a0\u201cIf the evidence seems to be pointing to the fact that she never obtained citizenship, Congress is failing to do their job. If we\u2019ve had a foreign nationalist occupying a seat in Congress, that\u2019s a problem\u201d<\/p>\n

As was reported<\/a>, Kern\u2019s efforts to uncover the truth about Omar\u2019s citizenship found both the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services unable to find a record to prove the congresswoman\u2019s late father was ever naturalized, as Omar was accused of changing her birthdate to present as a minor for the purposes of naturalization.<\/p>\n

In the wake of the raid on her home, the congresswoman has enlisted the representation<\/a> of Biden\u2019s personal attorney while President Donald Trump has called on her to resign from Congress while digging at Omar\u2019s response to an interview question about the alleged marriage fraud.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, when asked whether or not she married her brother,\u201d remarked Trump during a rally, \u201cshe said, \u2018Not to my knowledge.’\u201d<\/p>\n
