Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham commented on stalkers this week during an appearance on Theo Von\u2019s podcast, saying the problem is growing along with the WNBA\u2019s popularity.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll have to check if I\u2019m even allowed to say this,\u201d Cunningham said. \u201cI like have, I think, 20, I think, people kind of, that the FBI are watching for me. Me alone.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople are going to know who you are, and that\u2019s a really great thing,\u201d she said, adding that it also brings safety concerns. \u201cWe do have a lot of stalkers. I know I do. And like that\u2019s a negative side of things that people don\u2019t think about. And so you do want to feel secure.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe more you\u2019re visible on TV, you\u2019re going to get more fans. People are going to know who you are, and that\u2019s a really great thing. But there\u2019s also a lot of crazy people, too. We do have a lot of stalkers. I know I do. That\u2019s the negative side of things that people don\u2019t think about. And so you do want to feel secure.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sophie Cunningham: \u201cOh my gosh, yeah. We\u2019ll have to check if I\u2019m even allowed to say this. But I have, I think, 20 people that the FBI are watching for me, me alone.\u201d
\n\u201cI know one of them\u2026 He\u2019s locked away now\u2026 Actually, this is public knowledge. Yeah, his name\u2019s Kevin. And the worst part about that is like, I have a miniature donkey named Kevin. And now I\u2019m like, well, sh*t, do I need to rename Kevin?\u201d<\/p>\n

For what it\u2019s worth, Cunningham has been an outspoken proponent of protecting women\u2019s sports from male competitors \u201cidentifying\u201d as female.<\/p>\n

When asked about WNBA teams \u201cwalking out on the anthem,\u201d Cunningham let it be known that certain players have been doing that for several years. Stating that she has family members who\u2019ve served their country, Cunningham expressed her full support for military service members and veterans.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnytime I can shout out our veterans & the people currently fighting for us to live in the best country, I\u2019m going to\u2026 That\u2019s where I stand,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
