President Donald Trump didn\u2019t hold back after his White House renovations were likened to the Cheesecake Factory.<\/p>\n

Former President Barack Obama joked during a Cleveland, Ohio, campaign stop that the current president has the White House\u00a0\u201clooking like Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory, it\u2019s just gold everywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe seems very focused on home renovations. He should be on HGTV,\u201d the ex-POTUS snarked.<\/p>\n

Trump addressed the comments to a crowd in Corinth, Mississippi, on Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd now they say, \u2018Oh, woah, Barack Obama is going to start campaigning,\u2019 and he\u2019s not even campaigning. Tell him he\u2019s not campaigning about me, maybe he\u2019ll go home,\u201d Trump said. \u201cBut he came in yesterday, and he made a speech. And part of his speech was to say \u2018isn\u2019t it terrible that Donald Trump spends a lot of his time-\u2018 Very little time, I do it very good. I\u2019m really good at real estate and fixing things. I fix things very good, very beautifully.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI always build beautiful and inexpensive, which is a good combination if you can do it. But I can do it naturally, it\u2019s a natural thing. It actually relaxes me,\u201d he added, before launching into an imitation of Obama. \u201c\u2018Donald Trump spends a lot of his time fixing up the White House.\u2019 Isn\u2019t that a nice thing to do? He said, \u2018This isn\u2019t a Cheesecake Factory.\u2019 Can you believe it? Which is a very successful company. He doesn\u2019t like successful companies, but you know he was very critical about me because I spent time, and if you would have seen the White House. I took over the White House, and it was in horrible condition.\u201d<\/p>\n

He went on to claim that there was \u201cplaster falling off the exterior,\u201d the \u201cpaint was no good,\u201d and \u201ca lot of the ornamentation\u201d around some of the windows \u201cwas up on one side and was off or half fallen off on the other.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe White House is now in better shape than it was in 1792,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

He also attacked Obama\u2019s record as president, calling him \u201cnot a smart guy\u201d and saying \u201conly a stupid person would run the country\u201d the way he did.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have to explain to Obama that the White House is a symbol of America, and it has to be maintained properly. It has to be painted, and the exterior plaster can\u2019t be falling off the walls, and the decorations and the ornaments on the windows that are magnificent can\u2019t be on one side of the window and falling off on the other side,\u201d Trump said. \u201cIt\u2019s not about money. It\u2019s about seeing. Guys like Obama don\u2019t see it. He doesn\u2019t see dirt, he doesn\u2019t see filth, he doesn\u2019t see broken ornaments on a building. For you to say it was a Cheesecake Factory, that just shows why you were a lousy president.\u201d<\/p>\n
