A member of President Donald Trump\u2019s cabinet ruffled feathers anew as he addressed the impact a \u201cdeath cult\u201d ideology allegedly linked to a Senate nominee has had on Arab societies.<\/p>\n

On top of the concern about Marxist policies peddled by the left, recent elections have found Islamists who sympathize with terrorists thrust into the national spotlight with real potential to get a foothold in the halls of American government.<\/p>\n

During a rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, supporting former Rep. Mike Rogers\u2019 senatorial campaign and Rep. John James\u2019 gubernatorial campaign on Monday, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. addressed the Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed\u2019s alleged ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and its ideology that he concluded brought an end to Arab-Muslim contributions in art and science.<\/p>\n

Deemed racist and bigoted by the same folks who would deny the ideological incompatibility of Islam and the West and who refuse to acknowledge efforts to institute Sharia beyond Muslim-majority nations, Kennedy asserted that while the Muslim \u201cgolden age\u201d of art and science spanned a millennium, it came to a close with the Islamist-led Muslim Brotherhood.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s why you don\u2019t see any Muslims \u2014 any Arab-Muslims winning \u2014 there\u2019s 500 million Arabs in the world, and yet they don\u2019t produce science, they don\u2019t win the Nobel Prize, they don\u2019t win the Field Prize, they don\u2019t win the Wolf Prize, they don\u2019t produce literature,\u201d argued the secretary. \u201cAll of that tradition has been destroyed by the Muslim Brotherhood. They\u2019ve created stagnant societies that do \u2026 hatred and war and victimization. They\u2019ve let down their own people and destroyed those societies.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kennedy began his remarks in part by saying, \u201cI\u2019m happy that I came in when Mike Rogers was talking about the Muslim Brotherhood \u2026 It\u2019s something that I\u2019ve studied a lot in my life. I know a lot more about it than I think most people do, and I know how dangerous it is.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I wanna say this. Talking about the Muslim Brotherhood is not Islamophobia,\u201d he said, getting ahead of the inevitable criticisms he would face. \u201cThe Muslim Brotherhood started in 1928 and launched a new ideology that departed from traditional Islam in a very, very dangerous way.\u201d<\/p>\n

While he labeled the actions of Islamists against Christians and Jews in the Middle East as genocide, a point supported by \u2014 as scholar Raymond Ibrahim notes<\/a> \u2014 the United Nations own Genocide Convention, Kennedy specified that the worst victims are actually those living inside the nations under Muslim Brotherhood control, calling it a \u201cdeath cult.\u201d<\/p>\n

The secretary\u2019s remarks followed Trump\u2019s own warning about El-Sayed during his trip to Michigan over the weekend, where he emphasized the concerning ties of the nominee\u2019s family members to Islamist organizations, asserted a victory would demand a metal detector screening<\/a> be required for El-Sayed\u2019s entry into government buildings and stated, \u201cAbdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed wants our Country to go to Sharia Law.\u201d<\/p>\n

Predictably, backlash ensued over Kennedy\u2019s views on the Muslim Brotherhood\u2019s impact on the Arab world after he also described El-Sayed as the \u201cliving template\u201d of the red-green alliance.<\/p>\n

As many such efforts ignored the secretary\u2019s points about the centuries that preceded the founding of the Muslim Brotherhood and gave examples that included those of Arab descent raised in the United States, a Turning Point USA spokesman was among those supporting Kennedy\u2019s remarks with the post, \u201cTruth nuke.
