Efforts at accountability found two former FBI officials labeled \u201cdirty cops\u201d after surrendering on charges relating to the investigation of the Biden family.<\/p>\n

Be it the guilty plea of a former adviser to Dr. Anthony Fauci, a raid on the residence of Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar (D), or the scheduled execution of Nidal Hasan, the justice system \u2014 albeit slower than many would prefer \u2014 has marched on in its mission. Friday, that included the arrest of former Justice Department officials who allegedly lied to Congress about the investigation of Hunter Biden and the 2020 presidential election.<\/p>\n

According to a release from the DOJ,\u00a0former FBI Foreign Influence Task Force (FITF) Deputy Assistant Director Nikki Floris, 46, and\u00a0former FITF Section Chief Bradley Benavides, 56, surrendered on arrest warrants following a criminal complaint.<\/p>\n

U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro detailed that they were charged with lying to Congress about their roles on the Foreign Influence Task Force during the 2020 election.<\/p>\n

\u201cFloris and Benavides allegedly lied to Congress about their roles in the FBI\u2019s Hunter Biden investigations, with one claiming they only learned about it from Wikipedia \u2014 despite evidence showing their involvement in helping shape the public narrative about Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop right before the election,\u201d she explained, adding, \u201cLying to Congress by anyone strikes at the heart of our democratic system, but when senior FBI agents lie to Congress believing they are above the law, it\u2019s time to bring the hammer of justice down on them.\u201d<\/p>\n

This morning, two former senior FBI officials, Nikki Floris, 46, and Bradley Benavides, 56, surrendered on arrest warrants after being charged with lying to Congress about their roles on the Foreign Influence Task Force during the 2020 election. Floris and Benavides allegedly lied to Congress about their roles in the FBI\u2019s Hunter Biden investigations, with one claiming they only learned about it from Wikipedia \u2013 despite evidence showing their involvement in helping shape the public narrative about Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop right before the election.<\/p>\n

Lying to Congress by anyone strikes at the heart of our democratic system, but when senior FBI agents lie to Congress believing they are above the law, it\u2019s time to bring the hammer of justice down on them. When senior officials entrusted with safeguarding our nation\u2019s security choose deception over duty, they undermine the very institutions they swore to uphold.<\/p>\n

Today\u2019s action makes clear that no one is above the law, and we will hold accountable all who obstruct the truth.<\/p>\n

In her July 2023 congressional testimony, when asked about Hunter Biden\u2019s infamous laptop, Floris claimed, \u201cI don\u2019t have any knowledge of said laptop\u201d while asserting she \u201cdid not\u201d have any involvement in the Biden investigation. Likewise, Benavides claimed to have first learned of the investigation from Wikipedia.<\/p>\n

Contrary to testimony on how and when they\u2019d learned about the criminal investigation of the laptop, the Justice Department contended that Benavides organized a meeting \u201cTo Discuss Laptop,\u201d and, when he described it as a \u201cRussian disinformation effort\u201d in an Oct. 16, 2020 email, Floris responded, \u201cLooks good!\u201d<\/p>\n

In his own post pertaining to the arrests and charges,\u00a0FBI Director Kash Patel stated,\u00a0\u201cBoth testified that the FITF was not involved in the Hunter Biden investigations. Documentary evidence, contemporaneous communications, and witness accounts contradict their testimony.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFloris is also on record privately claiming to be \u2018running a shadow government\u2019 during the 2020 election in her role on the FITF,\u201d reminded Patel. \u201cLying to Congress by senior FBI officials strikes at the heart of our system. No one is above the law. The FBI has already dismantled the corrupt CR-15 squad that engaged in political weaponization targeting their opponents, including President Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked if he thinks the FBI was \u201cprotecting the Bidens before the 2020 election?\u201d President Donald Trump reacted by telling a reporter on the tarmac near Air Force One, \u201cI don\u2019t know exactly what it is, but I heard they were arrested or charged. And I heard they were bad people. You know, they\u2019re crooked people. You know what they are? Dirty cops, like [former FBI Director James] Comey. Comey\u2019s a dirty cop.\u201d<\/p>\n

This summer, the White House Transparency Task Force led by John Solomon uncovered documents<\/a> regarding Operation Round River, an FITF endeavor to frame allegations against the Biden family and corruption connected to Ukraine as Russian disinformation.<\/p>\n

Floris was also said to have worked to retract a tip regarding Chinese election interference via the use of \u201ctens of thousands<\/a>\u201d of fake driver\u2019s licenses.<\/p>\n

To many, the announcement of arrests marked a \u201cgood start,\u201d as suggestions on who else ought to be perp walked included Comey, his successor, former FBI Director Christopher Wray, and former CIA Director John Brennan.<\/p>\n
