{"id":690802,"date":"2026-10-22T12:19:24","date_gmt":"2026-10-22T12:19:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/buglecall.org\/?p=690802"},"modified":"2026-10-22T12:19:24","modified_gmt":"2026-10-22T12:19:24","slug":"white-house-warns-politico-to-retract-3-salacious-stories-or-face-consequences","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buglecall.org\/?p=690802","title":{"rendered":"White House warns Politico to retract 3 salacious stories or face \u2018consequences\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"630\" src=\"https:\/\/americanwirenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/sg-zacharia--1200x630.png\" class=\"attachment-facebook size-facebook wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/div>\n<p>The White House warned Politico on Monday to retract three stories, or it will pay a price.<\/p>\n<p>The three palace-intrigue stories, all published in October, include one titled \u201cTrump\u2019s ice maiden is under fire,\u201d that claimed President Trump was mulling a replacement for White House chief of staff Susie Wiles.<\/p>\n<p>Another was deemed \u201cunbelievably stupid and false\u201d by the White House at the time and claimed that one of its own stories caused a \u201cfreakout\u201d in the Trump admin and that the president \u201cblew up\u201d over it.<\/p>\n<p>The third suggested that Susie Wiles set up Katie Zacharia to fail in an interview with Fox News\u2019 Sean Hannity ahead of her ouster.<\/p>\n<p>White House Counsel Will Scharf warned Politico on Monday that it had 48 hours to \u201cretract or correct\u201d the stories or it would \u201csuffer unspecified consequences,\u201d in a letter obtained by Axios.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The White House counsel\u2019s office warned Politico in a Monday letter that it had 48 hours to retract or correct recent stories revolving around COS Susie Wiles \u2014 or it would suffer unspecified consequences.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/t.co\/yKLCpdZfVP<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Marc Caputo (@MarcACaputo) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MarcACaputo\/status\/2113029768279154813?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 21, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cFreedom of the press is not a professional exemption from accountability,\u201d the letter continued. \u201cI therefore demand that Politico immediately correct or retract these publications, issue a prominent and public apology to the President of the United States and to Ms. Wiles, and remove the false reporting from your digital archives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scharf warned Politico that failure to comply would prompt \u201cimmediate review of Politico\u2019s relationship with the White House, and, of course, consideration of all other appropriate and available legal remedies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The White House demand is an escalation in the ongoing legal battle with Politico, CNN and MS NOW after it banned the outlets from the Oval Office and Air Force One over biased reporting.<\/p>\n<p>Politico offered a correction to one of the stories after Fox News denied a Zacharia \u201cset up\u201d on \u201cHannity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCORRECTION: An earlier version of this report, including its headline, mischaracterized the role White House chief of staff Susie Wiles played in then-press secretary Katie Zacharia\u2019s interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News,\u201d the outlet said. \u201cPOLITICO\u2019s follow-up reporting indicates she did not play a direct role in setting up the interview.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/americanwirenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/sg-zacharia--1200x630.png\" title=\"White House warns Politico to retract 3 salacious stories or face \u2018consequences\u2019\" \/><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The White House warned Politico on Monday to retract three stories, or it will pay a price.
