The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is celebrating the security of America\u2019s southern border.<\/p>\n

Among the many promises President Donald Trump made as he was campaigning for a second term was the vow to bring the immigration chaos from then-President Joe Biden\u2019s administration to an end. While the Democratic president didn\u2019t seem too concerned with the issue, governors from impacted states around the country were calling it a \u201ccrisis.\u201d Even Democratic leaders were forced to recognize the seriousness of the problem when their own constituents started to complain, and many people credit his stance on illegal immigration with helping Trump win the presidency in 2024. (Former Vice President and failed \u201cborder czar\u201d Kamala Harris\u2019s underwhelming campaign performance notwithstanding.)<\/p>\n

Now, the DHS is celebrating 17 months of having a \u201csecured border,\u201d which has undoubtedly been one of the Trump administration\u2019s greatest accomplishments so far.<\/p>\n

A stark contrast to Biden, where CBP recorded its highest illegal immigration numbers ever,\u201d DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said in a statement. \u201cThe results could not be clearer: strong enforcement works. Thanks to President Trump\u2019s leadership and the hard work of CBP and DHS law enforcement personnel, we have restored control of the border and made America safer than ever.\u201d<\/p>\n
