President Donald Trump has once again triggered his opponents, this time by doubling down on his promise to give Americans $5,000.<\/p>\n

On Monday, he released a video on Truth Social where he accused Democrats of trying to raise taxes on voters, while he\u2019s actually trying to give away money to all adult citizens, should Republicans be able to keep control of Congress after the midterms.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to give all adult citizens in the United States of America $5,000. Democrat policies won\u2019t allow this to happen. In fact, the opposite. They\u2019re going to raise your taxes. If the Democrats win, you will have an economic depression. If the Republicans win, you will each have $5,000 in your pocket and economic success for our country like we have never, ever seen before,\u201d he said in the video.<\/p>\n

Critics immediately rushed to accuse him of trying to \u201cbribe\u201d voters, with some wondering how it would even be legal:<\/p>\n
