Former President Joe Biden visited a Planned Parenthood gala on Thursday, where he received an award from the organization.<\/p>\n

Biden attended the \u201cChocolate and Champagne Gala\u201d in Delaware, where his wife, former first lady Jill Biden, presented him with the Sonia Schorr Sloan Service Award. The audience cheered the moment, as the former president credited his entire political career to \u201cSonny\u201d Sloan, a nickname for the activist.<\/p>\n

He also predicted how Sloan would have reacted had she lived to see the\u00a0Dobbs<\/em> decision, which overturned\u00a0Roe v. Wade<\/em> in 2022.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe would have felt devastated,\u201d as well as \u201canger and astonishment,\u201d Biden said, adding that she \u201cwasn\u2019t afraid\u201d and wouldn\u2019t have wasted \u201ca single moment wringing her hands.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFollowing the Dobbs<\/em> decision, as president, I tried to do what I knew Sonny would have done. We took action. We signed executive orders to protect access to reproductive health care, including emergency medical care,\u201d he recalled.<\/p>\n

Breitbart News reported<\/a> that the Biden administration was a boon for Planned Parenthood, specifically the abortion services they provide.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlanned Parenthood notably performed a record number of abortions during Biden\u2019s time in the White House. The organization\u2019s most recent report indicated<\/a> that 434,450 unborn babies were killed in abortions in 2023 and 2024,\u201d the outlet noted. \u201cThe organization also secured record government funding at that time, bringing in $832 million in the form of government grants, contracts, and Medicaid reimbursements \u2014 a $39.8 million increase from the previous report.\u201d<\/p>\n
