Reports on a Trump administration policy\u2019s impact on rent in states that side with the president led to the conclusion, \u201cDeportation is the best affordability policy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Heading into the midterm elections, the economy remains a top priority for many, as an estimated third-quarter GDP growth of around 5% has been overshadowed by the cost of fuel. Even as President Donald Trump\u2019s Middle Eastern effort continued, domestically, striving for national sovereignty proved beneficial for Americans as states cooperating with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported sizable decreases in rent prices.<\/p>\n

Friday morning, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shared figures from major metropolitan areas around the country reflecting how deportation efforts were having a measurable impact on affordability for renters.<\/p>\n

\u201cDHS is reducing your rent, especially in states that cooperate with @ICEgov,\u201d DHS posted on X. \u201cTexas accounted for about a quarter of ICE arrests in July and posted the country\u2019s sharpest rent drops, with San Antonio down 4.8%, Austin 4.3%, Dallas and Houston about 3%.\u201d<\/p>\n

Research shows that illegal-worker inflows push rents and home prices up. That inflow has been reversed in the states running the hardest interior enforcement. Sharing the same figures as DHS,\u00a0Texas Rep.
