After an extensive search, it was discovered that a pocketknife was hidden inside a tube of toothpaste.<\/p>\n<p>A married couple who owned the bag reportedly told TSA agents that it was their son\u2019s idea to hide the knife in the toothpaste tube.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">TSA officers at Dallas Love Field discovered a pocketknife hidden inside a tube of toothpaste after an X-ray flagged a suspicious metal object in a passenger\u2019s carry-on bag.<\/p>\n<p>The married couple told officers their son had suggested concealing the knife inside the toothpaste tube\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/dKUWOn26y6\">pic.twitter.com\/dKUWOn26y6<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Fox News Lifestyle (@FoxNewsLife) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/FoxNewsLife\/status\/2102903110666748175?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 23, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI was super surprised when they both said that,\u201d Wade Brown, Jr., a security training instructor, said.<\/p>\n<p>Brown was credited with finding the knife, but only after he felt the hard object following a second X-ray.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis was the first time at DAL I had ever seen someone intentionally hide an item inside something else in an attempt to get it through security,\u201d Brown said.<\/p>\n<p>The couple voluntarily surrendered the pocketknife without incident and were sent on their way, but Brown said the ordeal was a good exercise for TSA agents when a suspicious item is not easily identified.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf one officer sees something and another officer cannot locate it during the search, work together and communicate until you find it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>TSA Dallas Love Field Federal Security Director Amy Williams agreed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA knife concealed inside a toothpaste tube is not something travelers typically encounter, but it is exactly the type of threat our officers are trained to identify and resolve,\u201d Williams said.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/americanwirenews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/sg-tsa-1200x630.jpg\" title=\"TSA finds well-hidden pocketknife, shocked by couple\u2019s excuse\" \/><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An unassuming couple came clean after TSA agents found a well-hidden pocketknife following a thorough search.
