A Nebraska woman and former Democrat shares her horrifying experience with abortion medication to advocate for limited access.<\/p>\n

Abortion medication has been normalized as a quick, non-invasive solution for women who believe their birth control may have failed or who have engaged in unprotected sex. Side effects and potential complications are downplayed while the so-called benefits are celebrated, but one woman is sharing her story in the hopes that other women are spared from the same trauma she suffered.<\/p>\n

After becoming pregnant and receiving a negative response from her then-boyfriend, Haile McAnally told Fox News Digital<\/a> she was taken in by the pro-choice \u201csisterhood\u201d marketing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember seeing the pink signs everywhere and the marketing that says \u2026 the sisterhood will take care of you. And as someone in that position where you\u2019re scared, and you are looking for answers somewhere, and you don\u2019t wanna be alone and being so young at the time, that was a very enticing message.\u201d<\/p>\n

The clinic, she said, was \u201ccold,\u201d \u201cdark,\u201d and reeked of alcohol.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey took my money, and they sent me back to this room where \u2026 this doctor was going to walk me through everything that was going to happen that day. That\u2019s the consent kind of happened, in that room, and he didn\u2019t know me from Adam. He really didn\u2019t ask about my background and anything medical that\u2019s ever happened,\u201d she revealed.<\/p>\n

McAnally recalls following the medical advice she was given, and the horrific effects she suffered.<\/p>\n

\u201cI followed that protocol, went home, took the second pill, and I found myself on the toilet in the bathroom where bleeding occurred, which was exactly what they said. But after about two hours, I was still bleeding out. And I started feeling really weak. I knew that what was happening was not right, but I couldn\u2019t really comprehend what was going on,\u201d she detailed.<\/p>\n

By the time she realized she needed medical intervention, she was too far from her phone.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just lay there and thought that was the moment that everything was over, and, partially, I felt like it was punishment for me making that decision,\u201d she admitted. \u201cBut at the end of the day, I remember waking up, and I was in the hospital and my friend had come home, and she had realized that I was lying in the bathtub unconscious at the time, and she called 911, and I had a blood transfusion done.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPlanned Parenthood told us that this is what is women empowerment. This is what women do when they can\u2019t handle it. They take this route, and they don\u2019t acknowledge the pain it causes,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

This is why she is fighting for curbed access to mailed mifepristone medications for women seeking abortions.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe same pills I took under the direction of medical professionals can be shipped anywhere at any time. I can\u2019t imagine being a young woman in college and maybe finding herself in this position, ordering these pills online, not knowing what kind of maybe pre-medical condition she has, and she finds herself in the same position,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She said the entire experience was so awful that it prompted her to switch to the Republican Party.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had always been on the left because I thought they were the side that was more open to having these conversations, the free-thinkers,\u201d she said. Unfortunately, she discovered that trying to discuss her experience was met with coldness from those on the left.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can\u2019t talk about it. You can\u2019t talk about it because it\u2019s not part of our agenda. It\u2019s not a part of our platform to talk about any complications this may have.\u201d McAnally explained. \u201cI noticed the more I asked questions, the people on the right were more willing to talk about it, which, in the pro-life space, I thought I was gonna be condemned. I thought it was gonna be like, \u2018You\u2019re gonna go to hell. This is horrible. You\u2019re a murderer.\u2019 These things that you always hear from the left that the right is gonna call you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I was like, \u2018I\u2019m gonna talk about it and see what happens.\u2019 And the right was so forgiving and so loving and really embraced my story and really said, \u2018This is horrible, I\u2019m glad you seek forgiveness and counsel for this.’\u201d<\/p>\n
