A friend\u2019s revelations about ruining her child\u2019s education found a co-host on ABC\u2019s \u201cThe View\u201d playing the victim card for her own kids, resulting from a \u201cvery different decision.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sunday, Nikole Hannah-Jones of 1619 Project fame shared the results of a decade-long experiment run on her daughter, enrolling the girl in some of the worst government-run schools in New York City under the belief her wealth and influence would be the rising tide to lift all boats.<\/p>\n

As the conclusion revealed the girl suffered major setbacks that required private tutoring to correct, Sunny Hostin used her own kids\u2019 enrollment in \u201ca predominantly white private school\u201d to assert that systemic racism is the actual problem in American education.<\/p>\n

After co-host Whoopi Goldberg introduced the essay published in Time Magazine, Hostin lauded her friend Hannah-Jones and said, \u201cI think that this is a decision broadly that all parents make when it comes to educating their kids, but \u2026 this is a very difficult decision for black parents in particular, because I made a very different decision.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI sent my children to private schools, a predominantly white private school. So, while they didn\u2019t suffer academically, they excelled, but it was a well-funded school, a private school, a well-resourced school; they suffered a different type of pain,\u201d she argued.<\/p>\n

The former prosecutor known for alleging racism carried on, \u201cThere was psychological trauma; there was racism that they experienced. They were bullied. There was, you know, trauma around their identity. My daughter wears a big afro; kids were trying to stick pencils in her hair. Boys were calling her butter face, meaning \u2018she looked good, but her face,\u2019 and she is a beautiful girl.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the ladies fawned over the \u201cbeautiful\u201d writing of Hannah-Jones, demonized the Trump administration\u2019s Department of Education, questioned voucher programs and how funding is allotted for government-run schools, at no point did they address the realities presented in the piece from the revisionist historian.<\/p>\n

As the writer recalled, students were running amok in the cafeteria while officials ignored bad behavior and Hannah-Jones\u2019 own daughter believed she was excelling only for the mother to find out teachers weren\u2019t actually grading her assignments.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026 she thought she was correctly solving all her problems because her teacher was not checking her work,\u201d the essay stated. \u201cNajya\u2019s writing assignments were rife with uncorrected punctuation, capitalization and grammar errors.\u201d<\/p>\n

Worth noting, Hostin, who earlier this year attempted to credential her son out of facing consequences for alleged criminal trespassing by harping<\/a> on his Harvard education and her own background as a federal prosecutor and a television personality, has often accused others of racism.<\/p>\n

Having already claimed that Republicans wouldn\u2019t vote for non-white candidates and that President Donald Trump didn\u2019t care about the U.S.-Canadian border, alleging illegal aliens entering that way weren\u2019t Hispanic \u2014 among other statements \u2014 in October 2025, the co-host recalled how she brought her son to the police station to demand immunity from what she suspected would be future racially-charged allegations.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026 I have to be in the position where I have gone to my local police department because I know my son is going to be training for the Junior Olympics, running around the neighborhood in an all-white neighborhood,\u201d she expressed. \u201cAnd I have brought him to the police and said, \u2018he belongs to me. This is my son. Do not harass him. Do not stop him.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Driving toward the coffee klatch\u2019s conclusion that funding for government-run schools should have the same base across the country, Hostin asserted,\u00a0\u201cSo I think the real question here is, nationally, schools in predominantly non-white districts receive $23 billion less in annual funding than their white counterparts. Underfunded schools versus well-funded schools. So public schools are funded from property taxes. So we need to look at the systemic problem that\u2019s happening in this country around public education.\u201d<\/p>\n
