First Lady Melania Trump and Xi&#8217;s wife,\u00a0Peng Liyuan,\u00a0will attend a separate event in the Washington metro area, with details yet to be announced.<\/p>\n<p><strong>That evening, Trump will host Xi for a state dinner in the East Room<\/strong>. Both presidents are scheduled to deliver opening remarks to guests, including technology and finance executives.<\/p>\n<p>Bank of America China and Asia economist Anna Zhou penned a <strong>preview of next week&#8217;s Trump-Xi meeting<\/strong>, saying both sides are expected to <strong>extend their trade truce and announce new commercial deals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Zhou expects a <strong>one-year extension of the existing trade agreement<\/strong>, which expires Nov. 10, alongside additional Chinese purchases of US goods and targeted tariff relief.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>We expect the Trump-Xi summit with the most likely outcome being an extension of the existing trade ceasefire, supplemented by additional Chinese purchases and limited tariff reductions on non-sensitive products<\/strong>,&#8221; Zhou said.<\/p>\n<p>She added, &#8220;<strong>We see little scope for a major trade breakthrough or a substantive new framework for AI-chip licensing.
