Gov. Abigail Spanberger has quietly terminated a regulation proposed by her Republican predecessor that would have prevented males from competing in female sports and entering female spaces.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSpanberger [terminated the regulation] on July 30, but the public is only finding out about it now, a month and a half later,\u201d D.C. station <a href=\"https:\/\/wjla.com\/news\/local\/virginia-abigail-spanberger-ends-glenn-youngkin-era-rule-on-transgender-sports-womens-sport-biological-males-competing-locker-rooms-safe-spaces-regulations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WJLA<\/a> reported. \u201cThe withdrawal of the rulemaking is buried on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.townhall.virginia.gov\/L\/viewchapter.cfm?chapterid=3280\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">government website<\/a> that few people look at.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Although her decision to quietly terminate the regulation comes as a surprise, her support for transgender madness doesn\u2019t.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">WATCH: Virginia Democrat Abigail Spanberger when asked about why she supports men being in girl\u2019s locker rooms responds with 2 minute and 45 second word salad.<\/p>\n<p>She even goes as far as to defend NoVa schools that are full of sex pests like Richard Cox:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are following the\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/CwKYSlkcZp\">pic.twitter.com\/CwKYSlkcZp<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Steve Guest (@SteveGuest) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SteveGuest\/status\/1977354130126479567?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 12, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The effort to create a new rule to protect girls and women began with a petition filed in April of 2025 by female athletes R\u00e9ka Gy\u00f6rgy, Lily Mullens, and Carter Satterfield, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/outkick-sports\/virginia-governor-abigail-spanberger-quietly-rolls-back-youngkins-plans-protect-girls-sports\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe petition asked the Virginia State Board of Health to adopt regulations barring biological males from female-only athletic teams and competitions, as well as female spaces in which women and girls could be undressed,\u201d the news network noted.<\/p>\n<p>Months later, in August of 2025, the Virginia Board of Health approved the petition, thus giving the state the authority to start developing the new regulations.<\/p>\n<p>FYI, Gy\u00f6rgy is one of the girls who previously got beaten in swimming by a ludicrously gigantic \u201ctransgender\u201d swimmer:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Virginia Tech swimmer Reka Gyorgy has released a full statement on the NCAA allowing Lia Thomas to compete in the 500 freestyle. She was 17th in the event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery event that transgender athletes participated in was one spot taken away from biological females throughout the meet\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Z0J9lUY3pN\">pic.twitter.com\/Z0J9lUY3pN<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Kyle Sockwell (@kylesockwell) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/kylesockwell\/status\/1505633212231524360?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 20, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Gy\u00f6rgy isn\u2019t happy about Spanberger\u2019s stunning decision to eliminate the rule.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt saddens me to see Spanberger take a position that I feel does not adequately protect female athletes and women\u2019s privacy and safety,\u201d she told WJLA. \u201cI have been fighting for women\u2019s sports for years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast year, I filed a petition to protect women\u2019s sports and women-only spaces in Virginia, so this issue is very personal to me,\u201d she added. \u201cIt is difficult for me to see decisions being made that I believe could negatively affect women and girls.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gy\u00f6rgy continued by ripping Spanberger a new one.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI personally think it is a shame to see Spanberger use her position and power in a way that, in my view, takes away fairness and privacy from women\u2019s sports and spaces,\u201d she said. \u201cWomen should not have to lose opportunities or their sense of privacy simply because those in positions of power have the ability to change the rules.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>WJLA also spoke with parents of local teens who\u2019ve been fighting for years for sex-separated sports, locker rooms, and bathrooms.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s disappointing for sure, particularly because she campaigned as a moderate and essentially lied to Virginians about her positions on a lot of things,\u201d parent Abbie Platt said. \u201cSo, as a parent who has been fighting for the protection of my daughter in sports and also in private spaces-it\u2019s maddening to say the least.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was a process in place that allowed parents to contribute and to give feedback, and she just shut it all down, and it tells you where her priorities are and who she cares about,\u201d Platt added. \u201cIt\u2019s not the vast majority of people who support girls\u2019 sports and private spaces for girls and women.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Virginia state Sen. Tara Durant told the station in a statement that she suspects Spanberger terminated the proposed regulation quietly because polls have consistently shown most Americans are against transgender madness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe vast majority of people ultimately \u2014 they want our girls to be able to have fairness when they compete,\u201d Durant said. \u201cI\u2019m the parent of two daughters myself, and especially in their spaces as well, they feel pretty darn strongly about that.
