The holdout juror responsible for the Lindsay Clancy mistrial has publicly spoken out for the first time amid a media smear campaign to besmirch his character.<\/p>\n

Michael P. Desronvil rebutted the claims of his fellow jurors that he had doubts about the prosecution\u2019s case in the murder trail that captivated the nation, with millions of women glomming onto the Massachusetts mother who brutally killed her own three children as some sort of twisted heroine.<\/p>\n

The 48-year-old black man was the lone juror who refused to buy Clancy\u2019s insanity defense that the killings were the product of the postpartum psychosis that she allegedly suffered from.<\/p>\n

In a statement to NewsNation, Desronvil defended himself, explaining that he had no doubts that the accused murderess knew exactly what she was doing when she methodically and brutally strangled her kids during a horrifying rampage in January 2023 at the family\u2019s home and then jumped out of a window in an attempted suicide.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t have any doubts. As I tried to explain different possible theories during deliberation, I kept getting cut off as if I had doubts based on the evidence present,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBased on all the physical evidence, key witnesses, and what the prosecution presents, I thought it was enough proof that she (Clancy) knew exactly what she was doing and planned,\u201c Desronvil stated.<\/p>\n

After the mistrial, the media has featured a number of his fellow jurors who have taken shots at a man who has been called \u201can American Hero and Champion of Justice\u201d for standing his ground and having the principles to resist the immense pressure put on him to let Clancy off the hook.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was several times I would ask him to show us evidence or describe a witness testimony that helped to prove what he was saying, and he couldn\u2019t,\u201d juror Nick Dargie told ABC News.<\/p>\n

Three other Clancy jurors also claimed that Desronvil admitted \u201creasonable doubt\u201d but wouldn\u2019t acquit.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe admitted he had reasonable doubt,\u201d jury foreperson, Roni Carlson told Boston\u2019s WBTS. \u201cI started filling out the forms. I was so excited\u2026 And then he said, \u2018But I\u2019m still not gonna say that she\u2019s not guilty by reason of insanity.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n

Following a week of deliberations during which Desronvil refused to crack, the 11-1 deadlock led to Judge William Sullivan declaring a mistrial, infuriating Clancy\u2019s supporters.<\/p>\n

At first his identity was kept confidential until another juror spilled the beans that he was black, a detail that surprised a visibly unsettled Gayle King, the longtime \u201cCBS Mornings\u201d anchor who once bemoaned<\/a> there being too many white people at President Donald J. Trump\u2019s inauguration.<\/p>\n

After the mistrial, Desronvil was doxed as professional character assassins in the media went to work, digging through his past to find a domestic abuse allegation and that he failed to pay his rent. A chilling message to future jurors if the state of Massachusetts chooses to retry the case.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe question is whether they could ever get a jury, particularly in Massachusetts, that would unanimously vote against this defendant,\u201d constitutional law expert Professor Jonathan Turley told<\/a> Fox News Digital. \u201cFor prosecutors, they have to weigh that, but they may find the alternative equally unappealing \u2014 to simply walk away and say, \u2018There are three dead children here, but we just don\u2019t think we could ever win this case.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Attorney Edward Andrew Paltzik who is now representing Desronvil said that he is \u201cpresently safe and sound at an undisclosed secure location in a rural area of Northern New England.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis American Hero and Champion of Justice loves the United States of America as the greatest country in the world; cherishes our sacred Constitution as the pinnacle of human liberty; and supports our amazing leader, President Donald J. Trump, as a fellow defender of common-sense, liberty, and sanity,\u201d he wrote in a Thursday post<\/a> to X<\/p>\n

\u201cRest assured that the evil people who have so viciously attacked this American Hero and Champion of Justice will be held accountable to the maximum extent of the law and beyond. In the meantime, though, he has persevered and remains utterly unbroken thanks to his devout Catholic Faith. As a devoted father and man of God, he will not be defeated or shattered by the wicked who wish harm upon him,\u201d Paltzik said of his client.<\/p>\n
