The result was a narrow victory for the left-wing coalition of Social Democrats, the Left Party, the Greens and the Centre Party, who together won 176 seats in the 349 seat parliament versus 173 for the ruling conservative groups.

According to the exit poll VALU from Swedish public service SVT, Social Democrats got 38% of the vote from the non-European voters, the radical Left Party (formerly Communist Party of Sweden) got 21%, the Greens and the Centre Party got 10%, and the liberal Moderates got 13%. The most striking figures for the conservatives are those for the anti-immigration party Sweden Democrats (SD). They received 10% of the vote — the same as the liberal Moderates.

Daniel Schatz, Swedish political scientist, on X: “VALU shows a very clear political dividing line. Among voters with non-European backgrounds, S, V, MP and C together receive 70% of the votes, while the Tidö parties receive 27% of the votes among this group of voters. The party sympathies of this very important voter group thus differ significantly from the rest of the electorate, and therefore have significant long-term consequences for the election math.”

If only Swedes of Swedish background had voted in the election, then the combined right-wing bloc would have received 51% of the votes, while the combined left-wing parties would have received 48% of the votes. But because of the large number of voters with non-European background, the left-wing parties received enough votes from these voters to win the election. The number of voters with non-European background has increased significantly in recent years. Some 13% of all Swedish citizens of voting age now have non-European background, compared with 3% in 2002 and less than 1% in 1982.

Leading Sweden Democrats Jimmie Åkesson said prior to the election that Social Democrats’ long-term demographic plan to increase immigration from the Muslim world was never by accident. PM candidate Magdalena Andersson’s campaign promise of granting citizenship to 100,000 immigrants is further proof of this long-term demographic strategy,” he said.

According to SVT, had the Kristersson government not naturalized over 200,000 new citizens during its four-year term, those voters — who backed the left in overwhelming numbers — would not have been there to provide the winning margin. In other words, the conservative government naturalized the very bloc that voted it out of office.

The implication of this for other Western countries is vast. Already in Germany, far-left parties demand that all foreigners be granted voting rights after five years of residence regardless of whether they become citizens. Sweden’s infamous Rosengård Centrum district in Malmö saw 95 percent of votes go to either the Social Democrats or the Left Party. This is not democracy in the traditional sense. This is conquest of a country by demographics, dressed up as pluralism.

And what happens next? When Social Democrat leader Magdalena Andersson forms a government, it is expected that many of the immigration restrictions put in place by the previous conservative government will be lifted — expanding the very voting base that delivered her victory. It is a self-reinforcing game. Conservative parties across the West face a shrinking window to act before the math becomes impossible to overcome.

‘NO AD’ subscription for CDM!
