Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass might be feeling the heat amid massive fraud busts in California.<\/p>\n

The Trump administration accused the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) of being an integral part of a fraud scheme where $75 million in taxpayer dollars had been funneled through the group.<\/p>\n

HUD Secretary Scott Turner reamed LAHSA on Wednesday, accusing the group of being \u201criddled with fraud, waste, and abuse.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThose days of blank checks are indeed over,\u201d Turner said, calling for LAHSA to be fully shut down.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese fraudsters received over $130 million; more than $75 million dollars of those were funneled through the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, also known as LAHSA.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is nearly the same amount LAHSA received from HUD every year until the Trump administration put an end to the California corruption!\u201d<\/p>\n

Interestingly enough, LA Mayor Bass formally stepped down from LAHSA\u2019s governing board one week ago, last Thursday.<\/p>\n

The mayor blamed \u201cscheduling conflicts,\u201d and her office acknowledged the \u201csystem is broken.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe mayor\u2019s first-hand experience at LAHSA reinforced her understanding that our current system is broken and in need of major overhaul, which is why she is developing a transition plan to build a city-led homelessness response system committed to delivering results for the city of Los Angeles,\u201d a statement from the Mayor\u2019s Office read.<\/p>\n

Bass also declined an invitation to testify in a Congressional hearing this week regarding the alleged disappearance of $1 billion in federal funding for LAHSA.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Turner continued to deliver results on Thursday, announcing the arrest of several alleged bad actors.<\/p>\n

\n

Private jets.<\/p>\n

Range Rovers.<\/p>\n

Opening nightclubs.<\/p>\n

Even paying bail for domestic violence.<\/p>\n

All on the taxpayer\u2019s dime.<\/p>\n

Former LA mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt made a point of Bass\u2019s timely departure from LAHSA.<\/p>\n

\u201cProbably nothing!\u201d he sarcastically posted.<\/p>\n

Pratt was not alone in his anger and frustration:<\/p>\n
