Maye Musk revealed her current sleeping accommodations and what she considers \u201cluxury.\u201d<\/p>\n

One might think that the glamorous mother of the world\u2019s wealthiest man would live in a castle, a high-rise condo or even an ultra-secure compound with state-of-the-art security measures. But the truth is much different, according to\u00a0The New York Post<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cElon Musk is known for having no permanent residence, preferring to crash at friends\u2019 places or in spartan temp lodgings,\u201d the outlet reported. \u201cHis 78-year-old mother, Maye Musk, reveals that she\u2019s also comfortable roughing it. She grew up camping in the Kalahari Desert and was couch-surfing until she was 60.\u201d<\/p>\n

Even today, she admits to sleeping in the Starbase garage when she visits her son\u2019s SpaceX facility in Texas.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I have a couch or a mattress on the floor, then I\u2019m good. Sleeping on the floor \u2014 there\u2019s a roof over your head. That\u2019s a luxury,\u201d she told the outlet.<\/p>\n

This outlook is truly the epitome of her philosophy toward life in general. In her memoir, \u201cTimeless: The Art of Reinvention and Resilience at Any Age,\u201d she offers her take on what it means to have a meaningful life.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople suffer a lot in this world and they don\u2019t think there\u2019s a way out,\u201d she explained. \u201cThey need to focus\u2026 how are you going to get out of this miserable situation?\u201d<\/p>\n

She describes the aftermath of leaving Elon\u2019s father, whom she described as abusive in her book. (He has denied ever engaging in abusive behavior<\/a>, for the record.)<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can do without dinners and you can do without movies or fancy clothes or anything, as long as you don\u2019t have somebody who\u2019s nasty around, shouting at you all the time,\u201d she said, explaining how she made things work as a single mother in South Africa. She took multiple jobs, including as a model, nutrition teacher and private dietician, to make ends meet.<\/p>\n

In her 50s, she decided that her life needed more speed, so she opted to move to New York, where they \u201cwalk fast, they talk fast, they think fast.\u201d Twenty years later, in her 70s, Maye Musk is still going.<\/p>\n

\u201c[H]er career as a model, dietitian, speaker and social media star has been on a rocket ship. In 2022, she was the oldest woman to appear in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition and is currently a CoverGirl face,\u201d\u00a0The Post<\/em> wrote.<\/p>\n

Looking back on her life, she says that her seventies \u201chave been my best. My best years, really.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite being the mother of Elon Musk, she lives an incredibly relatable lifestyle for a high-profile person in New York.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaye, who lives in downtown NYC, spends four hours each morning building her social media profile and screening modeling and speaking opportunities. It\u2019s work that someone of her stature would typically entrust to a team but she doesn\u2019t have one because she prefers to do it herself,\u201d the outlet revealed.<\/p>\n

And it doesn\u2019t look like retirement is anywhere her future, at least for now.<\/p>\n
