Fear and paranoia are the lifeblood of modern-day Democratic Party politics, and that is especially the case when it comes to President Donald J. Trump.<\/p>\n

But there\u2019s one problem for Democrats trying to milk the Trump-o-phobia: the nation\u2019s 47th president is constitutionally term-limited and will leave office in January 2029, unless he is planning on sticking around. A conspiracy theory that has bubbled up from the depths of the vast left-wing fever swamp.<\/p>\n

One of those peddling the idea that Trump doesn\u2019t plan on voluntarily leaving is Florida Senate hopeful Angie Nixon, the fire-breathing radical who sprung the upset against heavily favored Resistance hero Alexander Vindman in last month\u2019s primary and now has her sights set on going to Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n

Nixon made her wild claim in a podcast with the left-leaning MeidasTouch\u2019s Scott MacFarlane that he posted to X on Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe won\u2019t leave.. people need to be on alert\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis guy is laying out his plan,\u201d she said. \u201cHe\u2019s laying the foundation and the groundwork to not leave in 2028. He\u2019s weaponized an agency, ICE, and created a paramilitary force designed to terrorize people in their communities to see how far he can go.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s pushing the limit, the envelope,\u201d Nixon continued. \u201cThey\u2019re not being held accountable for murdering people, for slaughtering people on the streets while they\u2019re on camera, and so he\u2019s just pushing it, and then he\u2019s building his ballroom that we know is getting fortified, all these things\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

MacFarlane then asked, \u201cAre you making the argument, Ms. Nixon, that you don\u2019t think he\u2019s gonna leave on Jan. 20, 2029?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe didn\u2019t wanna leave in 2021!\u201d Nixon responded, throwing down the \u201cinsurrection\u201d card.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe saw what happened, and so I honestly am concerned about what he\u2019s going to do, and I know that he made the case a few months ago that the election was stolen from him in 2020, like he\u2019s putting things in place to make it so that he won\u2019t leave,\u201d the DSA Democrat continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe won\u2019t leave willingly,\u201d Nixon insisted. \u201cI know that for a fact, and so people need to be on high alert as it relates to that. He\u2019s sending out the National Guard to different cities, and so, again, he\u2019s testing how far he can go.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have had conversations with immigrants who have come from dictatorships and authoritarian governments, and they said that what is happening right now is what they have seen when these fascist and authoritarian regimes came in and took over their home countries,\u201d she told the host.<\/p>\n

Trump has mused \u2013 or joked \u2013 about the possibility of seeking a third term, something that is expressly barred by the 22nd Amendment.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once,\u201d the amendment reads<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The last U.S. leader to serve more than two terms was President Franklin D. Roosevelt, a Democrat.<\/p>\n
