A top Department of Justice official who was investigating the origins of the Russian collusion hoax has abruptly resigned from his post.<\/p>\n

In April, President Donald Trump selected attorney Joe diGenova to join the DOJ to lead a sprawling \u201cgrand conspiracy\u201d inquiry into the Russian collusion delusion hoax and conspiracy theory.<\/p>\n

Recall that for years, Democrats accused President Trump of having colluded with Russian officials to win the 2016 presidential election. This was known as the collusion delusion hoax.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, diGenova abruptly resigned amid what ABC News<\/a>\u2018 sources described as \u201cgrowing frustrations\u201d with his work.<\/p>\n

\u201cSources said diGenova had pitched himself to the president as someone who could potentially ramp up the conspiracy investigation, which thus far has resulted in no criminal prosecutions despite dozens of subpoenas issued over the past year to various officials involved in past investigations of Trump,\u201d according to the network.<\/p>\n

When asked for comment, he had nothing much to say.<\/p>\n

\u201cI resigned by letter today at 3 o\u2019clock,\u201d diGenova told ABC News. \u201cIt was an honor and a privilege to serve the president and the department. I\u2019m not going to say anything further. I wish them well.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to CNN<\/a>, diGenova\u2019s resignation \u201ccame after a series of clashes with top Justice officials, including one in recent days with someone who advised him he had lost the confidence of his superiors.\u201d<\/p>\n

Part of the problem, CNN\u2019s sources alleged, was that diGenova didn\u2019t want easy, small victories \u2014 he was pining for the big stuff.<\/p>\n

For example, instead of just going after disgraced ex-CIA Director John Brennan for making false statements to Congress, \u201cdiGenova decided he wanted to pursue more targets in a broader case,\u201d according to CNN.<\/p>\n

The network\u2019s source described it as \u201cgoing down 900 rabbit holes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was missing the forest from the trees,\u201d the source added.<\/p>\n

Leftists who have no respect for the truth have rushed to suggest that diGenova \u201cquit\u201d because President Trump\u2019s demands of him were too unethical:<\/p>\n

CNN has also alleged that diGenova was abrasive with his staff.<\/p>\n

\u201cCareer lawyers assigned to the case were met with angry tirades from diGenova and were at times sidelined,\u201d the network reported, citing additional anonymous sources.<\/p>\n

According to CNN, frustration with diGenova\u2019s work originated with the president.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrump himself has expressed his frustrations about the slow pace of bringing charges against foes he believes unfairly targeted him in the past,\u201d the network claimed. \u201cHe has expressed his discontent in social media posts and in meetings with department leaders.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, according to investigative journalist John Solomon, the narrative being pushed by leftists and their media allies is a false one.<\/p>\n

\u201cJoe diGenova resigned today as lead prosecutor in the Fort Pierce case. But not for the reasons some in the legacy media are saying,\u201d Solomon wrote in a series of tweets. \u201cYes, disagreements over resources, strategy and access to evidence are common inside DOJ.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut the most telling sign is that in Joe\u2019s last week on the job a grand jury in Fort Pierce, Fla., saw its heaviest stream of grand jury witnesses,\u201d he added. \u201cAnd lots of big name defense lawyers tell me their famous clients have been peppered with subpoenas over the last 10 days.\u201d<\/p>\n

Solomon concluded his thread with the following:<\/p>\n

Reporters suggesting Joe resigned because he was being asked to prosecute crimes that didn\u2019t exist have it wrong. An active grand jury like what was seen this week signals concern there is evidence of wrongdoing.<\/p>\n

In remarks to the Associated Press<\/a>, diGenova himself also pushed back on false narratives.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s plenty of evidence in all of these cases to prove the theories of prosecution,\u201d he said. \u201cIt just takes time to get there, and some people want to get there a little faster than others \u2014 and you can\u2019t do that.\u201d<\/p>\n
