President Donald Trump turned heads on both sides of the political aisle with a promise for Americans.<\/p>\n

Trump vowed a $5,000 cash dividend to \u201cevery adult citizen\u201d if Republicans win the midterm elections.<\/p>\n

The president made the unprecedented promise while delivering the keynote speech at the GOP\u2019s inaugural midterm convention on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can make this promise to you, and here is my promise,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf the Republicans win the House of Representatives and the United States Senate, both of them, because of our economic \u2014 tremendous economic success like in history, we\u2019ve never had anything like what\u2019s happening,\u201d Trump continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut because of our tremendous strength and success economically, I will issue a dividend to every adult citizen in the United States of America for $5,000. Very much like a successful company will do a cash distribution to its shareholders.\u201d<\/p>\n

With midterm elections historically going against the president\u2019s favor, Trump has apparently decided to try something new.<\/p>\n
