A top Trump administration official indicated on Tuesday that the admin isn\u2019t happy with Fox News over its treatment of ousted anchor Maria Bartiromo.<\/p>\n

Bartiromo was out at Fox News after she reportedly ran to the White House for help when the network refused to allow her to move forward with a story about 2020 election fraud and alleged Chinese interference.<\/p>\n

\u201cStatus, a publication focused on the media industry, and Puck News reported that Bartiromo was fired after sending White House officials sensitive internal Fox communications,\u201d according to The Washington Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n

To be clear, her lawyer Bryan Freedman has denied this narrative and alleged that she\u2019s \u201cstill employed by Fox.\u201d<\/p>\n

Either way, just the reports that she was fired have been enough to anger the administration\u2019s senior counselor for trade and manufacturing, Peter Navarro.<\/p>\n

Appearing on Newsmax late Tuesday, Navarro slammed Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott, blaming her for Bartiromo\u2019s ouster, and also accused the network of not being \u201cfriendly to MAGA.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe bigger story here is, forget about anybody thinking that Fox is a conservative network that\u2019s friendly to MAGA, that\u2019s friendly to Trump,\u201d he began, immediately signaling his anger at Fox News.<\/p>\n

\u201cSuzanne Scott is the enforcer. They\u2019ll feed you some red meat over there \u2014 the easy stuff, the trans stuff, stuff like that \u2014 but when it comes down to MAGA things, Suzanne Scott gets rid of everybody over there who wants to talk about MAGA issues,\u201d he scathingly added.<\/p>\n

Navarro also suggested that Bartiromo\u2019s alleged firing, as well as the past ousters of former hosts Lou Dobbs and Tucker Carlson, all had to do with President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was all about talking about Trump issues,\u201d he said. \u201cYou fire people like Tucker Carlson and Lou Dobbs, now Maria Bartiromo. That throws fear into all these other anchors and keeps them in line. It\u2019s like, \u2018Don\u2019t talk about kinda Trump stuff,\u2019 right? And we know how that network has not treated Donald Trump very well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Navarro also penned an op-ed for The Washington Times reiterating some of the points he\u2019d made on Newsmax.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know whether Suzanne Scott is a Trump-hating RINO,\u201d Navarro added several paragraphs later. \u201cI do know what her business model is.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to him, her business model involves feeding the base \u201cconservative red meat\u201d while ignoring \u201cMAGA themes such as election integrity, Big Pharma, and benefits of the Trump tariffs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Navarro concluded his column by calling for Scott to beg for forgiveness and resign from her post.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf this story were to end in a triumph of journalistic ethics, Ms. Scott would prostrate before Mr. Trump for disrespecting the office and to Trump Nation for suppressing MAGA news,\u201d he wrote. \u201cShe would apologize to Ms. Bartiromo for punishing, at worst, a minor infraction and, at best, an act of journalistic integrity, and put her back in the anchor chair.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe would also lift the shadow ban on Trump surrogates, and fast, so the administration goes into this critical November election at full strength,\u201d he added. \u201cThen she would resign.\u201d<\/p>\n

Navarro also made an appearance on Steve Bannon\u2019s podcast.<\/p>\n

As for Bartiromo, The New York Times<\/a> has alleged that she\u2019s still on contract at Fox News for a couple more years.<\/p>\n

\u201cMs. Bartiromo still has considerable time left on her contract, according to two people familiar with the matter, meaning that Fox News is still obligated to pay her millions a year despite ending her on-air role,\u201d the paper reported.<\/p>\n
