Rolling out a \u201crehabilitation tour,\u201d race-baiting Joy Reid wasted no time coming to the defense of a frequent guest who dubbed Democrats\u2019 congressional leader an \u201cAIPAC monkey.\u201d<\/p>\n

Failing to win on ideas, leftists have often resorted to language games to contort narratives, distort subject matter, and demonize their opposition. Conveniently, such mental gymnastics allowed for the typical calls for accountability and cancelation to be dropped over \u201ccultural disconnection\u201d when it was Reid\u2019s own ally, Rula Jebreal, caught dubbing House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) an \u201cerrand boy.\u201d<\/p>\n

During one installment of her podcast titled \u201cHow Not to Criticize Black Leaders,\u201d the former MSNBC host came to the defense of Jebreal, insisting, \u201cSometimes even our friends can get it wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey can stumble over trying to make a point that maybe there\u2019s a cultural disconnection that causes that point to go askew and go awry,\u201d she went on before bringing the commentator on alongside Wajahat Ali, prompting John V. Moore to conclude, \u201cOh brother. The rehabilitation tour has begun.\u201d<\/p>\n

As was reported<\/a>, Jebreal was speaking on Ali\u2019s podcast when she said of Jeffries, \u201cHakeem is an Arabic name which means \u2018healer.\u2019 He\u2019s not a healer, he\u2019s a divider. He is a bought-and-paid-for AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) monkey. With all due respect \u2014 and I don\u2019t mean it in a racist way \u2014 he is just basically an errand boy, and we\u2019re done and tired.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reid disregarded the commentator\u2019s own stated awareness of the possible reception of the remark and argued ignorance on behalf of her repeat guest, \u201c\u2026 people who are not U.S.-born and raised in the United States sometimes don\u2019t have the full cultural, you know, alignment and competency to really understand African-American history. And sort of the nuances of it and the way you need to criticize black leaders.\u201d<\/p>\n

As with her statement, Jebreal\u2019s backhanded apology was covered, wherein she said, \u201cI am disgusted and horrified that Hakeem Jeffries is taking money from AIPAC amidst Israel\u2019s genocide in Palestine. That said, a term that I used to describe him was inappropriate and offensive and should never have been used. I apologize unconditionally.\u201d<\/p>\n

Featuring both her allies on her podcast, Reid talked up the \u201cchallenges of pro-Palestinian progressives\u201d while Jebreal described herself as having grown up in \u201cthe AfroPalestinian community in occupied East Jerusalem\u201d with pictures of civil rights leaders on her walls, insisting that \u201cour struggle is a shared struggle.\u201d<\/p>\n

For his part, Ali attempted to turn the tables, highlighting numerous examples of alleged bigotry and so-called Islamophobia, including going as far as to call Hasan Piker, and the radical support for Democratic Socialists of America-approved candidates like Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan, little more than a distraction<\/a> on his \u201cdemocracy-ish\u201d program with Danielle Moodie.<\/p>\n

With Reid, many concluded her defense proved her \u201cloyalty is to her leftism cult.\u201d<\/p>\n

And this proves that Joy\u2019s only loyalty is to her leftism cult. Any outrage she ever shows at black people being insulted is just performative scam to hoodwink her small audience of dunces.<\/p>\n
